Brava Emma! Well done, very well done 🌹 Emma, at just 15 years old here, is a top-tier, world class vocalist. This is not an easy song to sing, yet she does it flawlessly. Another extraordinary performance by an emerging Megastar.

Emma has only started to get significant recognition in the last 9 months since her performance of Voila has gone viral, and even now, unless people like me and others spread the word about her other songs, they won't get the attention they deserve, some of her lesser known works have had fewer than 1000 views, yet Voila has now gone over 45 million views on youtube alone, and other recent songs with Andre and Helene Fischer, as well as Hallelujah, they're all in excess of at least a million, or several million, the move is starting to happen, but it takes time, it was only last summer when Emma's star started rising outside of Holland when Andre's summer concert went worldwide in cinemas, that was the start of the rise of her star, but finding her work, and understanding it takes time, I'm retired, so have more time than many to do research on Emma's life and story, but it is time consuming, a complex comment with a number of links to other songs can take 20 or 30 minutes to create, sometimes longer, and there are issues that can complicate that process, so I understand your question, and it's very much down to people like me doing all they can to enhance Emma's reputation and raising awareness of Emma and her abilities, and I like to hope that we're having some effect in that respect, and yes, you're very much right in your comment, this was indeed beautifully sung.

I love this performance. She gradually destroyed the sound technician you can see over her shoulder. It made me feel better because it affected me the same way. It’s not just her voice; her body language and particularly her facial expressions would slay me even if I had the sound off!!

Someone commented the other day that 'she sings with her hands'. I thought that was a very good observation. Likewise her facial expressions.

Rob, Thank you for a very good response and reaction to a sublime performance by Emma, this is possibly one of the strongest performances that Emma has done over the last while, and it was a special commemoration for the 8000 American lives lost liberating Holland in WWII, and Emma was 'honoured' to be invited to participate, there were 3 songs, the last a duet, and that too was powerful, and ended with a deeply meaningful line for Emma, given her condition, which she is more than aware can be life limiting, at the very end, she is asked to continue to tell the story about the lives lost, and in a moment of deep emotion, she says, 'I will, for as long as I can', and then they both walk off stage to a standing ovation. The links to the rest of the videos areliberation concert Introduction to the concert kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2arc5d-jZuVm9k Father (this video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2aYZXqpprJ7oJo Hero kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4q5dnyOrLOgipo You Raise me up, duet with Nico Wouterse, notable for the closing line by Emma, 'I will tell them, for as long as I can' kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJKrYX2HqLGiacU Emma has very much made a huge impression over the last 12 months, and being a part of Andre RIeu's orchestra for 2024 has only served to hugely increase her profile, and every piece of music we hear from her is absolutely top notch, and it's very much down to her laser like determination to become a singer, and from what we can see of it, everything else fades into insignificance when compared to her driving dream, she is desperate that her life should mean something, she is absolutely determined to not let her illness define her, even when there are days where she struggles, either because of a lack of stamina, or because of intense pain, she is determined to rise above these sorts of issues, and never talks significantly about them, and for a long time, she didn't let pictures of things like regular 'mickey button' replacements go on line, and I'm not sure if that was because she herself had problems mentally facing that issue, or if she was not wanting to get sympathy for her illness, either way, she has at last come to a place where she can talk more freely about the issues that surround her illness, not for sympathy, but to raise awareness, and hopefully get more support for her foundation, who are one of the few groups that are now researching this awful illness, trying to find better treatments, or hopefully a path to a cure. Not long before Emma performed for the first time for Andre, and sang the new Voila for the first time, she had to cope with the death of a close friend, Angela, and the song she recorded at that time was so deeply moving, she sings it a capella, so it is literally just Emma's voice, no accompaniment of any form, and it's an incredilby strong performance, and deeply emotional, especially the last line, in that Emma is more than aware that her own life expectancy may be compromised by gastroparesis, Angela was also young when she died, so for Emma to be even able to express the words, let alone sing them, that broke me when I heard it and realised that she was singing about the death of a close friend, and so soon after it happened. She sings, 'Yeah, I know, you'll tell me when I get there', to be able to express an emotion that strong, at the age of 15, the whole song is incredible, it's very evident at the end of the song that mentally, Emma is somewhere very different, she truly is a wonderful individual. I'll put the comments I have in my 'Emma text file' that is used a lot to find songs that she's sung. When I Get There - @PinkVideoVault Unaccompanied short, very powerful, a song about the passing of a very close friend, given Emma's own situation, so incredibly deep and moving, just incredible. Translation of the note in Dutch, which Emma put up as a guide to what the video is about. 'Last night my dear friend Angela became a star! 💗 I'm going to miss you incredibly much, but every time I look at the starry sky I know you're looking back 💗'. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp-soYFua9KqbKc Not long after, she also sang at a memorial for Angela, and sang a part of her first single, Butterfly, which is a desperate desire to be free of the limitations and restrictions of gastroparesis, she talks of being able to 'live life as another', but she then recognises that being free of her illness can't happen at the moment, there is no cure, no new treatment at the moment, so to achieve her dream of flying high, soaring like the butterfly, she has to rise above the illness, not let it define her, not let it limit her, she has to soar above it, and in the song, and even more in life, that is exactly what she is doing, wonderfully well, I don't mind admitting, Emma found an empty spot close to the core of me, which at 72 surprised me a lot, and I like what she does, and continues to do, she has helped me cope with some personal health challenges that I was facing, and watching how her star has risen over the last 9 months, I am more than sure that this is only the beginning, and the only thing that could hold her back is the health issues that mean she's limited to only being able to be free of the pumps that keep her alive for 2 hours a day, it makes her performance time very precious, and special, all her emotions and feelings, good bad and (her words) just weird, they all go into her performances, and enhance her ability in ways that are almost unique. Memorial song for Angela also, Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn 13 May 2023 a video short, kzbin.info/www/bejne/oV69paKJZapkeJo Today I had the opportunity to sing at the farewell of my dear friend Angela 💘 Angela always wanted to go viral with her tiktoks, she wanted to be popiejopie! Let's make this happen, share this message as much as possible so that Angela goes viral and she can really be popie from above ♥🙏🏻 This is a side of Emma that I've not been talking about much, as there's been so much else to discuss, but as things have been quieter since the Christmas bonanza of songs, we've seen this other side of Emma's life, partly as a result of social media posts about her most recent 'mickey button' change, which she both hates and dreads, if all goes well, it's 30 minutes of intense pain, longer if there are problems, as she refuses anaesthetic to avoid problems with her voice, and it's been a thought provoking revelation, having researched the implications of gastroparesis, I've realised that Emma's life has been much harder, and had many more challenges than we'd realised, and she's gone up a long way in my estimation as a result, not only is she a top flight performer, fluent in 3 languages, (Dutch, English and German), and delivering what she does despite the challenges that she deals with every day, she also has a wonderful personality, and yet at the same time, Andre describes her as a 'podium beest', a stage beast, she is the smallest person on that stage, yet by sheer power of her personality, she is able to absolutely dominate the stage, the orchestra and everyone in the audience, in recent weeks, she gets recalled more than once by Andre because the reception she receives from huge audiences is so powerful, and lasts for so long. I will close with my usual request, and I make no apologies for doing so, Emma deserves as much support as can be found for her, and others like her, gastroparesis is an awful disease, and there is very little known about it, and even less in the way of treatments. A closing heartfelt plea to everyone reading these comments. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl If at all possible, please join me in making a (regular) donation to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease, and hopefully find a cure. At the moment, they are a small group, and one of their main people is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It would be wonderful news to hear that they have been able to change the outlook for Emma and others, it would be tragic if Emma were unable to continue to sing like she does, while she looks stunning on stage, her stamina is not good, so it is a very delicate balance to maintain her health, it would be so good to hear that the situation has been changed by the work the foundation are doing, Emma would then be free to spend more time doing what she loves so dearly.
