Thank you for what you do, I always pick up trash when bank fishing and usually find usable lures and terminal tackle also, like finding treasure sometimes. Really like watching the yearly contest between 2 brothers on another YT channel in who can find the best stuff when the lake is down. Amazing what you can find sometimes.

You're the man. I normally take bags with me when I go fishing. I can't walk far. And use a power wheelchair to go further than I can walk. But I can still pick up trash when I see it. which is often. Keep up the good work. I just wish we didn't have to clean up after assholes who won't throw out their own trash out.

It is disappointing that people litter. Ideally we wouldn't have to clean up after them... But at this point, something just has to be done!

Carrying a trash bag is a good idea when fishing, you can use it as a rain coat /poncho, or sit on it when the ground is wet. Of course, the real reason to carry a trash bag is to use it to haul off any trash you find while on the stream/lake/pond or walking to the water. One of the worst things found near the water is old fishing line. At least monofilament will degrade into really weak line in 15 to 20 years, braid and fluorocarbon degrade in geological time frames. Always, when you see it, pick it up. BTW, always watch out for hooks, and lures still attached to the line - sometimes you can find some expensive lures, especially plugs, you may need to change out the hooks, sometimes not. The reason that often find old shoes, is that most of them nowadays are some form of athletic shoes, flip-flops, 'slides' is that those types of shoes float, leather shoes usually don't. When a stream or river floods, those nice, floaty shoes wind up miles downstream from where they got lost. And one of the most common places is where you showed, in flats on the stream bank, where flooding water slows down and 'deposits' all the stuff it's been carrying, including trash. So my comment is to not make picking up trash a one-time or occasional activity, but carry a trash bag with you whenever you go fishing. If someone asks 'Did you get anything"" you can honestly reply - "Sure!"

Very much agree! I need to do a better job of having one with me on every trip but I always try to do my fair share of cleanup. Even though lazy people create the problem, we can't rely on them to solve it. All of our jobs to pick up!

It’s ridiculous how much trash we pick up, we always keep some type of bag to pick up crap people leave behind. It’s hard to understand how people carry it in full and can’t carry it out empty, it’s lighter now so it should be easier than carrying it in. SMH
