Thank You For The Inspiration Mercy Sunot of Aegis Band

September 22, 2024. Level Set Band remembers the musical encounter we had with the late Mercy Sunot of Aegis band at the Fort Mckinley Banquet and restaurant In South San Francisco, CA . She wasn't really there to perform , but rather to watch the Laughter In Tandem Show of Donekla, but her presence brought up recognition to one of the Philippines most iconic voice . One of the actual performer, Donita Nose acknowledged her and the crowd went ecstatic learning her presence, and she obliged with their requests. She was asked to sing with a karaoke backing track, which she politely turned down and requested that we, Level Set Band, back her up instead. Thank you Mercy, we will never forget. Rest in Paradise now, God Bless your Soul . I do not claim any copyrights to this song which was originally sang by Mercy and her band, Aegis.

Even going through cancer, Ms Mercy still belted out on stage😍. Truly a phenomenal singer with a very gifted raspy, husky voice that just lingers. I still can’t believe that she’s gone, such a heart breaking news to hear this. Her voice and the band Aegis will always hold a legendary legacy for the Filipino community.
