Most musicians would be proud to put together a song like this once in their lifetime, Chris Thile cranks one of these original masterpieces out per show. I look forward to this opening with great anticipation each week and am always blown away.

Chris Thile is one of those rare musical masters who has the ability to raise everyone in the room to his level no matter what chains the audience down. Seeing Chris amongst his peers at the TELLURIDE BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL and how he was in AWE of everything and everyone who was making all of the MAGIC occur told me that this MODERN DAY BEETHOVEN was MEANT TO BE!!! HE IS A TRUE AMBASSADOR TO THE WORLD OF MUSIC AND IT’S FANS & LISTENERS!!! WISHING YOU MANY BLUE HORIZONS...

I just listened to the full album today and heard this song. Amazing. I'm blown away how complex his songs are compared to most writers. The guy is a genius.

I think what I like most about Chris is that whenever you watch him play he seems just so fucking happy, it makes you happy too

This is easily my favorite "Song of the Week." A beautiful composition, especially the instrumental break (the tail end of it at 4:21 is particularly sublime) and the lovely harmonies on the chorus... And the lyrics! "This city is the apple of my eye of the hurricane" is beautiful wordplay. And "Farewell '16, sweet as sugar's bitter" is a healing line... I wish I'd discovered these songs when the program was airing, I could have used them...but hey, a new season's releasing this year, so I look forward to hearing more new music.

Same. I missed the first part of the show where they actually introduced them, but due the uniqueness of this song was actually able to find the artist and this tune. So lucky!
