I dedicate this song to my friend Bill. We met when I was 19 , he was 20, way back in 1964. He prayed with me and for me to have Jesus come into my life. He brought me to his church one night when a Youth Minister was giving service. I found Christ that night and asked Him into my heart. Over the years we lost touch. Now over 50 years later we found eachother once again. I will always be greatful to Bill for giving to the Lord. I am a life that has been changed because of him. I am so glad he gave to the Lord. Thank you Bill.

I cry whenever I hear this song. My great grandmother died 2 years ago and this was dedicated to her because she was holy. She did whatever she could to spread the word of god. She knocked on doors and everything that a person could do. I will remember her forever. This song was played at her service. I love you great grandma! R.I.P. My grandfather who is 82 years old and grandmother were missionary to the Navajo people in Arizona for around 30 years... I just found out last night that my grandfather had vomited and subsequently aspirated and that he was on a vent in the ICU. This song has been on my heart ever since... He was a rodeo rider in his younger years, did cattle drives and whatnot... As I was explaining to my children that my grandfather was dying, I was able to express joy for his life and find true joy in that later today, when he is removed from life support, he will close his eyes here on earth and open them in eternity, free from dementia, free from pain and in the presence of his Lord, along with the countless Navajo and other peoples he helped bring to Christ.

Isaiah Chapter 57 tells the story...God will be (and indeed, wants to be) merciful to Mr. Boltz and to restore Mr. Boltz. After all, God is (and always has been) in the restoration business. We should all pray that our fallen brother will be brought to repentance, and be fully restored so that, once again, God will be glorified and so that the Lamb who was slain may receive the reward of His suffering.

We are all vulnerable, fragile ‘jars of clay’ (v.7). Inside is the ‘treasure’ (v.7), which is inward and ‘unseen’ (v.18). Do not be surprised if, sometimes, Christian leaders fall. We, the messengers, are weak and fragile. If you received your faith from someone who has now lost theirs or has messed up in some way, understand that the message came to you in a jar of clay. It is not the jar that matters, but the message. The treasure is the message of Jesus. It is given by the mercy of God (v.1). God has deliberately put the treasure in jars of clay: ‘We carry this precious message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us’ (v.7, MSG

The story of the missionary and the subject of the song reminded me of the story of the Widow's Offering in Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4, when Jesus was in the temple and an old widow brought two little coins, her last bit of money, or at least a significant part of it. The rich men were sneering but Jesus essentially said knock it off, her offering means more than yours(because she was very poor, so it hurt her financially to give. It cost them nothing to give except whatever the amount was, because it didn't matter to them. They had money to spare. She gave from the heart, and she was humble about it. They gave to show off: oh look at me, I gave a huge sum, aren't you impressed? I'm so great.

We'd always sing this song to my Grandpa before he died. We'd play the music and read the lyrics off of the sheets that we printed off. Such a large amount of people would be standing at their bedside, singing (Some off key; Some on) our hearts out because this song was so relating to him. Everyone loved him and we wanted to thank him. We'd all be fine until the 'I know up in heaven, you're not supposed to cry..." part. We'd all burst out into tears. Grandpa-I love you and your in a better place.

Sorry for the loss of your mother and under those circumstances William. We can't know a person's heart like Jesus can so we can't know if they have a place in heaven. I do know that if she is allowed to be there, she is not there yet. The catholics call this transition time purgatory but we can't know what it is. This I truly believe that we go to heaven according to scripture in this order and timing at the time of the Rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 King James Version (KJV) 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I tell you what if this song doesn't touch your heart I don't think anything will. I feel like I have been on a rocky road lately and this song is what I needed to hear. I want Jesus to stand behind me and to tell me "Great is your reward".

Sad to hear of his submission to sin. I understand how hard it is to live a life committed to our Lord, but most of us do. It's one thing to struggle with sin, it's another to make yourself believe that you have no choice, but to live in it. Just because the world says that sin is just part of who you are, doesn't mean that you should believe it. Satan said the same to Adam and Eve, "did God surely say?" The Word of God is true, but if we listen to the world, their lies will lead us from the truth. My prayer is for this man to see that he is a prodigal and return, just like I did after living 17 years in the world after knowing the truth. Our loving Father will never turn away His own. God bless you Ray, in Jesus name.

Exactly. That is the problem with many sins, not just homosexuality. The world, and even the church (in some instances) has said certain sins are not really "sins", or are "OK" in God's eyes. Truth is, NO sin is "OK" in His eyes because He cannot stand sin. Light and dark cannot mix together, and when a believer willfully sins, that is what they are doing. That is dangerous. But if you turn to the Lord and ask Him to cleanse you, forgive you, and help you resist, He will.

tom darrohn Our faith is in not what we see But what is not seen . God’s promise is that He will continue the work He started in us and bring it to completion unto the day of Jesus Christ.
