Eric…! So pleased you enjoyed this….! Elan is far too modest….! He’s was the instigator behind this….! It was his idea for us to show our appreciation for what you do with your channel….! We all spoke about how much we appreciate and respect your knowledge and love of knives…. and how we’ve always enjoyed what you do….! We know you’ve had some health challenges of late and just wanted to show our appreciation and hopefully bring a smile to your face…. Pleased to hear we managed to do that…😀 Look after yourself Eric… All the best mate ❤️👍🏻

Whoever was the originator, all of you contributed to putting a huge smile on my face. Occasionally KZbin starts to feel more like a job than a hobby, but it is actions like yours that reinvigorate and excite me to stick at it! Until recently, in addition to being a full-time cripple, I was also an elected politician, the owner of a business and KZbin was my relaxation. These days, only KZbin remains, so I need to nurture it. Thank you again, you’ll never know how much this meant to me!

You’re very welcome Eric, Sean deserves all of the credit for this one, he organised it all and gifted the knife from his own collection. He is quite the gentleman…although often naked

The Bar shield was often added to a gentlemen’s knife expressly for monogramming by the owner.
@slick_slicersАй бұрын
Yes, I’ve always assumed that was what they were for, but you rarely ever see any with monograms. I wonder if monogrammed ones are kept as family heirlooms?

Who made the knife you put into the little white slip?
@slick_slicersАй бұрын
It’s a little Kershaw slip joint that was made in Japan in the 1970s. It was a gift from one of my subscribers Rick/Warthogg. This one has tortoiseshell acrylic covers, but he also sent me one with mother of pearl. It’s a useful little twin blade, with the second blade being a bottle opener/screwdriver/nail file. I shot a video about it earlier this week, which should be out in a day or two.

Just a total shot in the dark here about the ART trademark. I was reading The Butler Company added the ART tm because the Butler tang stamp was getting heavily counterfeited. They did this in 1861. At the time Butler was owned by Brothers Albert and William Andrew. They soon recruited a third partner, Henry Rowe And the company was located on Trinity Street Could the ART trademark be a shorthand for Andrew, Rowe, Trinity?

Sounds very plausible, but I’ll need to do some research.

Eric, I've just done a video on the Wharncliffe whittler 😂. Like minds think alike. I bought 2 from Steven also. Ones a gift for a mutual friend who gifted me a knife this year. I've not received mine and ordered a while ago. But I also appreciate that he does it in his spare time. And it's definitely going to be worth the wait. But I used the Case Seahorse whittler and a J. Barber, for an example. Have you got an email I can contact you on? The lads asked if I wanted to contribute but had a knife in mind for you. I had to send the first one back. I will explain in email. Nothing as fancy as the one you have received. But one that made me think of you. I hope you dont mind? I have your address.

I watched your video this afternoon while I was doing my leg exercises, so I didn’t comment on it, but I will. One of the SC’s I have is a birthday present for early next month. My video on it will be posted on 11/11, his birthday. My video stick with Sheffield makers and only very briefly refers to those from America. Hopefully, therefore it will compliment yours.

I used to love the travelling knife videos which you were a part of. It was brilliant to get everyone's thoughts and feelings on the same knife. I imagine it will be the same with similar video topics. Hope you are doing well? They are some of the nicest people on that discord.
