In this episode they visit Le Blockhaus d'Eperleques and are extremely thankful for the courageousness of the Allied Forces who thwarted the German attempts to create a base from which to attack England.

Enjoyed this one. We always stop at Gandspette on the way home. Such a lovely site and Julian is so helpful. Nice dog friendly restaurant and I love the pork in cheese sauce dish. My mouth’s watering now! We visited the Blockhaus in 2018 and found it so very interesting and would agree that it’s definitely a place to visit if in the area. Went to Ganspette on your recommendation after our trip in July and loved it. Had 3 courses and that’s not like me these days, great stop. I clocked the Blockhouse on the way in and said to my missus that the name was very familiar (must have watched something about it recently) and only twigged after it was too late, next time 😫. What sort of costs did you have for the tolls and fuel on the French side to get to Spain please? May do something similar next year and maybe see the Pyrenees at the same time. Great vlogs thanks PS just heard the toll costs apols😂

Make sure you put your seat belt on Mrs Slaw before you move away from the toll. After all you are filming yourself driving without a seat belt on. I thought the Blockhaus was really frightening and it was much more open than it is now. Although there is a lot more information now.

The first time I visited the blockhouse it was 8 euros entrance fee, I believe it is now 13, at that time there was no health and safety and you could actually touch most the exhibits instead standing behind rail bars, but still something to see .NAZI madness. All take care richie
