I read once, that: Psychopaths don't yawn either when they see other people yawn. The mirror neurons in their brain didn't develop fully. That's why they lack the natural tendency to mirror other people's behaviour, like non-psycho's do. These mirror neurons play a big role in developing a theory of mind (the ability to form an idea of the perspective of others and themselves on events and situations). And one needs to be able to have an idea of the perspective of others to develop empathy. That's why babies and psychopaths lack empathy and don't mirror other people's behaviours: not yet or underdeveloped mirror neurons.

Fun fact: Für Elise (written by beethoven yall have heard the song at least once in your lives) translated from german means "For Elise". Elise was some sort of nickname for a girl called Therese. Therese was beethoven's student (a mediocre one) and he wanted to marry her so he started composing a song for her. He made the start so easy even she'd be able to play it. But while composing the song he found out she didn't love him and was engaged with another man so he made the rest of the song so hard she'd never be able to play it. If that isn't petty idk what is. EDIT: i coulda come up with a better fact but thats the first thing that popped up into my head for some reason lol

@gunpowda
@gunpowda 9 ай бұрын
its actually an urge to fix it, like for example when youre hungry, you get rid of the feeling by eating or when youre thirsty you get rid of the feeling by drinking, but if something is cute you cant do anything to get rid of the feeling so your brain wants you to kill it thus making it not cute
@VetusDea
@VetusDea 9 ай бұрын
@@gunpowda that's actually not true in the slightest and there's absolutely no reason the urge to kill cute things - you know, stuff our brain identifies as looking similar to our own babies - would survive untold millions of years of evolutionary pressures towards *protecting* and *nurturing* our young ∑:3

Here’s an interesting fact: Hypothermia works when you get extremely cold for too long, yes. But it doesn’t start to get deadly until your body starts to quit or have a sleepy sensation. This means that your body has given up, while shivering means you still have energy. If you start to feel this, find help immediately. Shivering = good, Sleepy = bad. Edit: Now thats insane, 990 likes in 3 days??? Wow. 😍

rashingo yep! And being extremely warm/talking clothes off = EXTREMELY BAD. This is called Paradoxical Undressing, and it is when the nerve endings in the body start to go numb making people feel irrationally hot when they’re in the cold. (I’m not entirely sure if it’s numb so correct me if I’m wrong!) They will strip down their clothing and speed up their freezing to death process.

Sorry but that is not a fact, it's a myth. It's just a hat with folds from the creation of the hat. It's design is a French Chef's ego for the hat to be taller than anyone else's, all based on the Brigade System which is the line of command in a "traditional" French kitchen. Each "level" of skill, or station learned, leads to a new hat style or change in general attire. The head Chef would be easier to see and identify with the tall hat, that's it. There's likely more than 100 ways to cook an egg, but few are practical. I wouldn't cook one on a truck's engine or with a match but both are viable.

Fun fact: When a weatherman/woman says there's a (number)% chance of rain, they're not saying it's that likely to rain. it WILL rain, just that percent of people in that area will see rain. So if your weatherperson says it's a 30% chance of rain, 30% of people where you are/live will see rain.

The application is the same - if the weather person says there is a 30% chance of rain, there is a 30% chance it will rain where you are that day. The difference is that most people interpret that to mean that the weather person is predicting a 30% chance that the rain will begin. Meteorologists can accurately predict when it is going to start raining, but they cannot always predict how the storm will travel far in advance. So, if there is a 100% chance, they can tell for sure that your area will be affected. If there is a lower chance, it’s possible the storm will pass by near you, but not directly over you.

fun fact: magenta is an imaginary color (color spectrum goes from red -thats why we say infrared- to violet -thats why we say ultraviolet- and magenta is not in it. It’s the solution your brain gives to things that activate the part of your eyes that reacts to red and yellow simultaneously but won’t activate the green. dont blow your mind tho, actually every color is imaginary, colours is the way our brain proceses waves, and we, as humans, have named different lengths of these waves as the names of the colours we see in them, but nature is complicated and things can reflect different waves from different parts of the spectrum, that’s why our brain, instead of interpreting yellow and red light as green, because it’s not a “green” wave, invented a new color. Here’s my fun fact (since I had such fun reading everyone else’s): house cats don’t have a “white fur” gene. Instead, any cat with white fur has a “color blocking” sequence that shuts off the coloration in part or all of their coats, causing the white in the absence of color.

I feel like this one is more known but: Black Panthers don't exist and are never actually a solid black, they have spots. The cats we call Black Panthers are Leopards or Cheetahs, and they simply, due to a genetic mutation, produce too much melanin which makes it hard to but not impossible to see their spots. Also, when it comes to solid black cats most have a gene that suppresses the tabby pattern, rather than suppresses color like the white cats, others have the same thing as Black Panthers but rather than producing too much melanin the pattern isn't always suppressed.

Fun facts!: 1. It only takes 4 pounds of pressure to break a knee 2. It takes 8 pounds of pressure to break a knee going the opposite direction 3. A singular timpany drum is called a timpano (my spelling may be off) 4. Body soap (body wash) can be used as hand soap when you wash your hands and can actually help with dry skin caused by washing frequently 5. Plants respond to pain! They also respond differently depending on how you speak to them. They'll grow poorly if it's in a negative manner and grow well if it's in a positive manner 6. A button down shirt is called a button down because it has buttons on the collar to button it down. If it doesnt have those buttons it's called a button front or button up 7. Fish scales used to be used in lipsticks to add pigments and other matter 8. Barbie's full name is Barbra Millicent Roberts (if I'm remembering correctly, I could be wrong!) 9. People with dissociative disorders are just as common as people with ginger hair 10. You are valid, loved, and an amazing person. You read this far and I'm proud of you! 💝💝

This has always been my go-to interesting fact: The monarch butterfly migration is an insane feat of nature on its own, but there’s one part of the journey where they fly over Lake Superior. While over the lake, the butterflies will bank a left for miles, go straight, then head right again and continue their straight line. No one had any idea why they took such a huge detour over flat lake water, until it was discovered that over a MILLION years ago, there was a mountain there. The monarch butterfly migration path is so permanently engrained in their DNA they’ve been evading a mountain that has been gone for a billion of their generations.
