wow jerry! stunning! I'm sure I wasn't the only one who needed a full box tissues by my side! Amazingly edited! Thought you were going on a bit about how long it was taking but it's for sure worth the wait and your hard work! A very fitting tribute to "The Queen"- an aircraft which they'll be no like, ever again.

My great big beautiful Virgin 747's AND I FLEW ALL OF THEM AS CAPTAIN FOR 27 YEARS ..............THE ONLY QUEEN OF THE SKIES! The last one leaves LHR in December......... I and so many will miss them, I retired 3 years ago
@percytalboys57294 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I do envy your experience of being a Virgin 747 pilot .. And there is a good chance that you probably flew me to or from Orlando MCO at some stage over my 170 trips across the pond .. After talking to many pilots over the years I know that you guys just loved flying these queens of the sky ... Sad to say that flying for me will never ever feel the same ever again as I have stated in my comments way above this under P. ............ Good old days have gone forever and the end of an era I guess ... In the meantime enjoy your retirement and your good memory's

@@percytalboys5729 Your comment popped up - I think it is more than likely you were on a flight of mine! At the peak of our flights to MCO at weekends there could be 6 jumbos...... 2xLGW 2xMAN 1xGOW and 1xBFS all landing in a couple of hours of each other - so 450 pax x 6 = a lot!! Was just at LHR to help host the last one to go GVROY at the weekend and it was very emotional - she leaves tomorrow I believe (16th Dec). Majestic, graceful and didn't have a mean bone in her body - always did exactly what you asked of her - my baby

Hi again, yes I often saw the 6x 747s parked up at MCO as you say at the busy times- not to mention the Lufthansa 747 .. In fact I think MCO would be the only airport that you would ever see 6 parked up at the same time = = I used to go on the roof of the main terminal to kill time watching the planes take-off and land - A lot of people didnt realize that if you got in the lift and headed for the heliport on level 13 you stand on the roof and see all the 747s parked up all at the same time from high - And yes I can fully understand you being emotional seeing the last one to head for the breakers yard ( GVROY being Pretty Woman ) My records show that I traveled on GVROY alone at least 6 times,.. centre

Now that I've figured out on how to post things on you tube, I thought I would just add a brief video of Ruby Tuesday travelling over the bridge at Orlando MCO in the memory off all the 747s that inevitably passed over at some stage - Hope it brings back some good memories for you ! @@vonniful

As a longtime resident of Orlando Florida, I will miss the Saturdays when I would spot 6 Virgin 747's at the gate all at the same time. I will miss them passing right over my house on final and departure too..This really hits home...so sad...I also want to say this is the first aviation video I have ever seen where the music is perfect. thank you for posting ...

Beautiful but a sad watch Thanks Jerry for this lovely compilation. Have flown many times on some of these. So, logically, these birds are lumps of metal with tubes, wires, engines etc - but look at what has been created and how beautiful they are. Bye, bye girls .... thanks for the flights.

Nicely done Jerry. Over the years I flew to MCO, JFK, UVF, LAX, LAS and SFO (some of them multiple times) on the Virgin 744's. The last time (to MCO) was just over 2 years ago and I thought then (even before the current circumstances) that it would be my last 744 flight.

one of my fondest memories was stepping off a virgin 747 in Antigua, and walking the apron to a steel band, right next to the aircraft. it was before the new terminal, and it was a terrific flight.

A very sad day for Virgin Atlantic to loose all these iconic flagships - I for one was lucky enough to have flown on all of the 747 fleet at various times over a 25 year period - In fact I've flown across the pond to the USA approximately 85 times ( 170 if you count the return trips ) ... To include all the previous models that was previously retired such as - Tubular Belle,, Tinkerbell,, Mustang Sally,, Lady Penelope,, Virginia Plain,,Cosmic Girl,, Jersey Girl,, Ruby Tuesday ,etc - And for the record - The Falcon used to be called Hot-Lips and Forever Young used to be called English-Rose .. Despite the age of all these 747s, there is nothing in the sky today that comes close in comparison ... For me, any future flying will never ever feel the same for a host of reason ,, and I'm pretty sure that all the pilots that flew them along with the cabin crew will feeling much the same way ... Seams as though the good old days of flight travel have gone forever and I feel sorry for all the flight crews who will sadly have great difficulty in replacing this type of work / lifestyle ....
