Not related to squirrels but I wanted to thank you for the video on stiff starters. Am now getting crumb the way I want it light, open, not at all sour as opposed to dense and tacky. I maintain the starter at 50% hydration. It started life as an apple yeast water, which I subsequently found out is a traditional way to create a stiff starter. Anyway, thanks again.

We used to have a squirrel problem. Lately haven’t seen a squirrel around. Not sure what happened.

Austrian living in the US here: American squirrels are grey and much bigger than the red European squirrel (which is slowly going extinct because the invasive grey species is taking over). Also: in most places here in the US there are squirrels everywhere. Almost like pigeons.

Can we just blame squirrels? I do believe most of our politicians are squirrel hybrids, but they just don't play in the road enough.
