Just another hint that aliens are behind Thanksgiving...

Y'know, I always hear people hype up thanksgiving as this horrible event, but really the only horrible thing I see is the events surrounding thanksgiving. The actual "first" thanksgiving itself, at worst, is tweaked to seem more loving than it really was.

Hey Deut, you had a half-inaccuracy. You said during the video that the tired feeling is due to the tryptophan in the turkey combined with carbs. However, for some people, mainly introverts, we get tired because talking to extended family members takes a lot out of us 😂 (and by the way, I love your content)

Youd think the racist imperialist history of the "holiday" would be complicated enough. But no, people have to put on a modern lense and ignore actually interesting things to think them up for what reason i can not imagine. Maybe I could, but that would take time out of comments like these.

Ok you are way off. History tells a much different story. The pilgrims had problems the first winter in Plymouth as they were not prepared for the freezing temperatures and many died from lack of food and disease that ran rampant. The survivors managed to survive until spring and made friends with the local native tribes doing a deal of the pilgrims learn how to plant crops and understand the local environment so hunting could be done. The natives wanted something in return as to take out a rival tribe that was raiding and hurting the tribes. Five pilgrim men and many native warriors snuck up to the enemy camp and the rivals had no chance once the guns fired as the natives had no clue what guns were. The rest of the natives burned the village and it became a bloodbath those were ran were lucky. The pilgrims and natives sat together around autumn to celebrate their victory and a very successful harvest by giving thanks to what helped them partying for three days. The foods were fish, lots of grown vegetables, eels, succotash, a few turkeys, and the main event of venison. Honestly they became friends helping each other through the good and bad times. They worked hard so to enjoy their own labor.

And _then_ that relationship soured, leading to King Phillip's War etc.

@@DeuteriumtheSentientMattress wrong the American revolution started about 100 years after both Jamestown and Plymouth became fully established. Many were still loyal during years in between but every generation grew apart naturally as children just naturally emotionally grew apart from their former king. Besides much of Britain was too busy to pay attention to little us with the Spanish and French breathing down their backs. Until the blockade of Boston harbor we were paying everything in taxes yet the British still blockaded the harbor and sparked the riot of the shot heard round the world leading into the American revolution first battle.

@@yugioht42 I said King _Phillip's_ War, not the Revolutionary War. That's a totally different war.

@@DeuteriumtheSentientMattress we call that the French-Indian war and technically that was purely territorial disputes with George Washington working up the ranks to gain experience and we didn’t start that, the settlers did not know exactly where border lines were so the natives started raiding, the French got involved then the British. Basically no one really knows exactly why it fully started. Even the natives still don’t know why it started and it wasn’t the natives we already befriended either it was different tribes not affiliated with what we knew at the time. All I know is it ended with a treaty signed with new territory borders in place. It didn’t last as the middle of American revolution the natives grew restless and planned new raids but they couldn’t. Many natives tried to work as British guides through the northwest but slowly over the course of a few years they stopped trying as they were scared of getting killed by American gunfire and taking out officers. The natives simply snuck back to native villages and camps giving up. This ended up having a massive impact on the British soldiers as they didn’t have guides that knew the area which meant they got completely lost and fell easy prey to traps and stall tactics. They sometimes couldn’t go very far beyond a half kilometer because of the stall tactics. Most of the tribes we knew were friendly and came to towns once in a while to trade for things and were known in communities so they weren’t that bad. Just other tribes that were not exactly friendly that did the raids and you could tell them apart due to clothing and what they wore.

@andy luo ... that's _another_ completely different war to King Phillip's War. I _did_ do my research for this video.
