I bought the Pano Lunar white dial from Nick earlier this year for my 25th work anniversary. The white with the blued hands with a dark blue ostrich strap...just spectacular to look at!

Lovely pieces, Bruce! I'm still amazed how sharp and detailed my 'original' Grand Seiko Snowflake looks. It took a long time to really appreciate and truly have feelings for the brand and their watches as they're just kind of TOO perfect if that makes sense! Also really appreciate the GO PanoMaticLunar. I've tried some variants of this watch on my own wrist and unfortunately this beautiful movement and therefore the case is just too tall for me! But I really think it would look great on YOUR wrist?! =) All the best from Germany!

Glashutte is just more special than a Grand Seiko. As great as the Grand Seiko is, there is just no watch in this price category that can compete with the Glashutte when it comes to craftsmanship, quality and finishing.

That Glashutte case looks really thick. The dial and movement is nicely finished, however, the date font and window is incongruous. The GS case design and Spring Drive movement is more to my liking.

Gotta say though, hearing you say, “ Shun bun,” with English pronunciation made me chuckle a bit. 😉 Of course I don’t want to be THAT guy, but living in Japan and speaking Japanese pretty fluently, it might be fair for me to say. The “u” sound in Japanese is pronounced like the “u” in “put” or “octopus.” Also, the same as the “oo” in “foot” and “good” (but NOT “noon” or “toot”). I hope that helps. 😌 Keep up the awesome work. +1. I've lusted over the blue dial for many years, and almost bought one 4 years ago. But, these days I just really have no need for an expensive formal watch on leather. I'm usually sporting something on a bracelet, or a beater G-Shock.

@@thumperjdm I have two expensive Swiss autos, a bunch of G shocks and a Seiko SLA037. The Seiko has barely left my wrist over the last four months and if it has, it's for a G Master while I do DIY. Comfort and practicality usually win, unless you make a habit of attending black tie events!

The Glashutte has an amazing design and it comes with several complications (including the date as it has 2 separate disks). When you do a full review, please address the size of the watch (40mm), is it big enough in your opinion for this design and complications, is it the right size or should it have been bigger (like 42) to have a better view of the dial? I looove this watch and the quality too. It’s just that I wear 42/43/44mm watches and I felt it was too small. Will have to see it again. Thank you for all the videos. Happy Thanksgiving!

Both great Watches from 2 great houses. Though they lack the recognition or respect from the normal Joe , true watch enthusiasts will respect both brands . The GO may be quite expensive brand new, but for what you get ......... worth it . The GSs movement on the other hand may not be quite as impressive, but the dial and finishing punches way above the more popular watches. I believe a beautiful watch needs both masculine and feminine traits .

Same here. The bracelets for GS are just terrible. It’s really hard to feel like you are wearing a special watch when the bracelet feels like it’s off a Fossil.

@@atl3630 Not sure what the complaint about GS bracelets are outside of their clasps. They feel just fine to me, and I own bracelets from Omega, Rolex, and Tudor. The clasp is a lack luster due to the lack of adjustment, but that really can be said about a lot of watches in this price range, that aren't necessarily sports watches.

Simply can't understand why ppl hate GS bracelet, while the only complaints they can come up with is the lack of micro adjustment, which is apparently available in their sports models and most importantly that 'flaw' is not exclusive to GS when it comes to dress models.

Yep. I tried on a snowflake awhile ago and even though it was titanium it wore very large on my wrist. The titanium models are also a bit light. I have also heard tons of complaints of their bracelets. Yes, the finishing is insanely good but I think if you are not staring at a watch through a macro all day finishing I snkt that important for a watch

Looking forward to both reviews Chris although especially the Glashutte. Not nearly enough press or you tube reviews of these German pieces. Personally, I love them both but have recently took a slight dislike to date windows and why most brands make them look like an after thought and stick them 'somewhere' on the dial where they won't get too noticed?? The exception is of course is A Lange and Glashutte pieces that really accentuate the date windows make them an integral part of the dials. A big let down for me is that some of these GS watches are sooo beautiful but spoiled by the date window and I know this has a lot to do with the Japanese design ethos but for me a shame. One question I have is how gorgeous the dials really are in the metal? Ive never had the pleasure of handling a GS in person and looking at this piece, I can't help but compare the dial to my old Seiko 'frost' Monster I recently moved on. Please don't laugh but is there really that much difference? Anyway, excited for both reviews and look forward to any feed back. Barry

Arrrrrrr GS still don't get it, it was nice to hear you say it was stipid for the emberlem at the back, exactly why o why would you want to cover the display, then there is the titanium which is easier to scatch and is no where as attractive as steel. And I wount mention the braclet and clasp, when is GS going to ever listen to the public. The swiss & Germans are far more in tuned and make a more complete watch.
