Every family gathering, my dad's side of the family and I are always on the stairs: laughing, singing, praying, playing and crying. Even if it was a wedding, when the family that are not that close to us leave, our stairs and hallway is always crowded with us. It's like a tradition now. Even if we are crying because of someone's death, or someone leaving the family when they get married, we always end our days on the stairs laughing our butts off. and even though we have lost someone, when we're on the stairs, we always get used to the new normal, and this has been going on since my father's generation, to us, to our nephews and nieces. It's a wonderful tradition.
