This is not a flow. it can happen in those cars as well it's called wheel hopping.

Ji Iam Ananth from Chennai Tamilnadu. What you have said is true. Jimney is underpowered vehicle. Hence considering transmission loss, it won't shudder much. More over a vehicle needs a running in period not only to the engine but to all moving parts like engine and in transmission hypoid gear box also subjected to running in period. The vehicle is designed for forward as well as reverse motion. Normally reverse speed we would maintain between 15 to 20 kms max. In Thar ROXX vehicle as more power than required to combat all terrains. On a plane surface there is no resistive force for the rear wheels but where has presume it is stuck in a trench then there will be resistive force. You would have seen in heavy velcles with multi axles. When the reverse with high rpm axles will shudder. Thank you Ananth Chennai

This is normal wheel hopping due to initial inertia and counter torque effect on suspension due to high wheel rpm and torque.

@ if you see the video of thar roxx it is the differential which causes the wheel to hop…more than the suspension it is about the bushes and joints that link the axels to the differential hub…the hop is so aggresive in the roxx that it needs to be examined.

@ I don’t who reverses like this but mahindra should not get a pass on this…i have good experience in cars like this and this is just unacceptable hopping…i know this is a known characteristic of the design but controlling it in the working range of the car was mahindras duty…others manufacturers have done it and and there is no reason why such dangerous hopping should occur in the first place.

Its because thar has softer suspension with more travel plus more power and torque to the wheels. 100 hp vs 150 hp.
