I am using a March 2023 4X2 model Thar petrol Automatic. Other than rain guard and internal carpets nothing is added. A week back completed 20000 kms service. We have a car but my family (wife, Daughters 17 and 10) likes Thar.. so have done couple of family trips with luggage of four... during this 20000 kms. Just have to have a mindset that we are in rugged SUV. My Thar reverse sensor also lags for some seconds when we engage reverse gear ...but overall good experience.

Choose the petrol model if you go on a few trips and do little off-roading. On the other hand, if you're looking for adventure, long distances, or off-roading, the diesel model is the best option.
