Thargoid Spire Heist - Landing on an Alien Citadel | Elite Dangerous Update 17

The rumbling got quieter, then much, much louder... Barnacle Matrix sites have transformed into giant Thargoid Spires, so this Commander goes for a landing to heist a new on foot material added in the update.
The on foot game loops and exobiology are much appreciated, even if you must enter enemy lines to take part.

Interesting video. Makes me want to go investigating that spiral. Unfortunately me and most of the players in Elite are not interested in the Thargoids. Imagine if fdev were to cater to the rest of us how good Elite would be..

@@Maquinamqc 1st paragraph: its well known that most of the players left ED especially the console players due to being cutoff. Most videos I watch regarding Elite over 80% of the comments are negative towards fdev or they say they do not care for the Thargoid content. Prime example of people not caring is my own squad. We had just under 100 people in our squad and they all F'N quit ED and im the only player left from my squad still playing. 2nd paragraph: I personally do not care about the thargoid content, I never did. That being said I liked the activity you were doing in this video of yours. The thargoid content would have been way more interesting if they provided the current Thargoid conent we are getting now with better planning after they 1st gave the majority of the players what we wanted and have been asking for. I'm a veteran player of this game and I have done goid activities however I have rarely found any of it engaging but there is one time I did have fun with the goids and I have a video on my channel fighting them. ED should have been loaded with the content that we all asked for then after that introduce what they are giving us now with the Thargoid War and this new content in update 17. Why did the thargoid advance in the galaxy stop???

@@thatgregguy "ED should have been loaded with the content that we all asked for..." Again that divine "WE" that represents, whether we want it or not, EVERYONE. Ship interiors?, base creation?, what are those "sure" things that "we all" wanted FDEV to put in ED?. I don't want ship interiors, I don't need them. I don't want to "magically" create bases in seconds like in other games, it's not what I demand from ED and I've never demanded it from ED. The only thing I don't have right now that I would love to see in ED in the future are planets with dense atmosphere, nothing else. And that's not to say that I consider everything in the game now to be perfect, far from it, and of course I have my personal wishes and desires, but the reality is that ED still gives me today the things I fell in love with and started playing 11 years ago. And that's why I still play it... otherwise I would just stop playing it, but I wouldn't go on every video, every post, every reddit, to say over and over again the same old bullshit. ED is a Frontier game, and Frontier develops what they consider opportune and possible to realize in each moment. If you like it, perfect, if you don't like it, perfect too. But the "discouraged ones" get in any video, in any post, in any reddit, to always, whatever it is, whatever happens, finish with your negative comment of "how bad Frontier has done it and how sad is now ED...". Well, here we are all, playing and enjoying what ED has been giving us for more than 10 years, with its virtues and its defects (which it has, and a lot of them), but how boring are you, "discouraged ones". One person creates a video showing a new content of the game, with all his passion and community building spirit... and always has to appear the "discouraged one" to leave that "bad taste in his mouth"... Always with "THE TRUTH". If you and your 99 friends don't feel the same way now as you did years ago, then it's a shame, a real shame.

@@Maquinamqc You must not read my comment above that I still play the game. I love ED for the ships and engineering and I also liked mining in the game too but fdevs actions imo unbalaced the game when they focused on combat. The content you show in this video is very impressive and if fdev provided more opportunities like this before and expanded on that a few years ago this game would not have bled players. I still have fun with the game as mentioned above but im not too much into the current implementation of the thargoids and as stated above I wasn't because I found it boring. Your video here shows a glimpse of what I would have wanted in an alien encounter. Any negatively regarding this game lies on the doorstep of fdev themselves. The fun we had during our console adventures to end up with the experience I have now is truly sad. I hope for the sake of ED that fdev does not pull the plug on the game as a cost cutting measure. I like your content and I do not wish to be negative but with what happened to our squad is a travesty 90 plus players from our unit quit and they were hardcore players. A real shame indeed. Keep producing content man. Im going to sub to your channel.

@@thatgregguy People that want to complain or have a axe to grind are noisy in comments. Folks that are satisfied and having fun are just playing the game. You'll always get a skewed notion of negativity if you read comment streams on social media.
