Great points all round, and even for those of us who are not American, we cannot always say, My Country, Right or Wrong, for Let God be True, but every Man a Liar. Let us trust only in the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the Book He gave us - the King James Bible for the English Speaking peoples.

Sell your cloak and buy a sword sounds like Jesus said. Also in the Old Testament, if you smite a thief and he dies no one could take you to court over it. I’m all about the Bible but to say it doesn’t support self defense is absurd.
