Three-Leggeds Workhorse is crazy to experience live. Being able to feel it pounding through your chest is a good 50% of the experience of this song, especially in a small dingy venue.

it's awesome hearing you go through this album, one that I grew up listening to in my teenage years in the 00s. This album, and the album "The Four Trees" by Caspain, were my jam during this later 00s era of bands like this. If you are interested in checking out another album of a similar flavor, I think The Four Trees will be a worthwhile followup!

It's funny that you talked about this, because your video coming up in my recommended and watching plus listening to it was exactly like a memory being triggered for me, akin to looking through an old family photobook where you were a young boy, triggering fond memories of a safe and homely time. I had totally forgotten about this album that was in my rotation every now and again, probably nearly 15 years ago or so. Some parts I recognised instantly, other parts were vague for me and some just didn't feel familiar anymore. TWDY definitely hits differently now that I'm not in my late adolescence but have grown up. It really has a homely but homesick kind of vibe for me. My favourite track was Villa Del Refugio, it got me teared up and in my feels. I really enjoyed revisiting it with you Bryan and I will definitely not forget about it again and return to it every once in a while. By the way, I gravitate to the same songs you do on this album and people not taking it in as a holistic experience and the last track barely being listened to is a travesty! 🤦🏽♂️ I guess it shows that most people are personal playlist in shuffle plebeians nowadays.

Funny thing about Villa Del Refugio ... I always have the hardest time with that song. But I've found that if I skip it, then the opening notes to Threads just don't hit the same. It's almost like you need to endure through the difficult parts to appreciate the beauty. But then as the song goes on, it feels like the "threads" unravel and everything goes to hell again. It's a really emotional album if you are in a certain state of mind when you listen to it.

0:22 S/T = Self titled :D I don't listen much to Post-Rock these days, but this is one of the few bands of the genre that I still like. This album is pretty good, but my favorite is Tunnel Blanket.

One of my favorite post rock albums! This one actually took me a long time to get into though, because I never had the patience for it. I took a monster edible before starting it once, and then it finally clicked. It's an amazing album to me... any time I listen to it, I'm taken back to that wonderful headspace. It's a tough one to listen to critically, though, because it really depends on how much you can get "lost in the waves". It's a stellar album to trip to. As a side note, someone turned the whole album into a line rider video, which is also a great way to experience this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5LWqaSBiMiCnLs

Oh man...Line Rider. I haven't thought of that in a looong while. I'll check out some snippets of it.

Young Mountain is considered an EP. S/T is the first full length they put out. Young Mountain was originally their demo.

Great analysis at the coming to the conclusion that this is really meant to be listened to all in one sitting. This is one of the best "post rock" albums you'll ever hear in my humble opinion, a classic of the genre at this point.

Have you listened to any Russian Circles albums yet for your channel?
@CriticalReactions6 ай бұрын
On the channel I've only listened to 309, which I've checked out twice now since I didn't get it the first time around. But I did check out Gnosis on my own when it released in 2022.

@@poke_wounds9175 That was a while ago so I don't remember too many details but I rated it in my spreadsheet, giving it a mid rating and writing "it's great at what it does, crafting moods and exploring how they can be given weight or lightened up. But it's too slow moving for me to enjoy outside of isolated moments."

@@CriticalReactions thanks for answering my question! I totally get how it can be too slow for someone glad you were able to appreciate it!
