What a missed opportunity years ago for this sequel to be titled “Scooby-Two!” A major throw-in for this movie though to me is a music cameo featuring 2003 American Idol winner Ruben Studdard. I enjoyed that show in its heyday!

Both these movies hold a special place in my heart for many reasons: I grew up on all the old shows, I know the guy who drew the monsters for both movies, and that James Gunn wrote both of them. Just recently, he got a fan letter written like it came from Scooby. It was adorable!

Velma being in love with Scott evil was cute... even if making him a suspect was useless since he had NOTHING to do with the monsters or the scientist. I still find his character charming and his relation with Velma adorable X3 The villain's bar was a great place! It was nice to see them hanging and playing wack-a-mole with Fred and his friend's heads. The disco scene was a bit weird especially seeing Scooby flirting with a old lady :S I didn't find it funny either, it was more disturbing than anything else.

Yeah, I like this one a lot more than the first one. The plot of this one feels much more like a plot to a 90's Scooby Doo film, more than the strange demon possessing in the 1st one. Also, the version you watched uses KFC product placement, but some versions, such as the one I watched as a kid, used Burger King.

Funny enough, when I was growing up with both Live-Action Scooby-Doo movie, I always get it the other way around. I always think of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed as the first movie and the first movie as the Sequel instead of the other way around.

The animated movies are a must watch! I've got the majority of them on dvd, all collected from when I was younger. The ones I recomend the most are: Scooby Do and the Loch Ness Monster, Scooby Do and the Goblin King, Scooby Doo Camp Scare, Scooby Doo and the Samurai Sword, Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders, Scooby Doo Zombie Island. Other good ones for the list are: Aloha Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico, Scooby Doo Where's My Mummy. None of them have to be watched in order. Some do reference others, but that's only maybe two of three of them from the top of my head. Anyway glad to see you watching the scooby doo movies. I grew up watching them so it's cool to see your first time reactions to them. These recommendations are based on my experience and favourites, so do listen to others if they have recommendations of their own.

It's my all time favorite movie from the franchise, cause honestly you can't go wrong with dinosaurs. Shaggy also has a fun sort of character arc in that one. There's A LOT of fan service here,with all those monsters(even with those that are only mentioned),which come from the first series "Scooby-Doo-Where Are You!" and "The Scooby-Doo Show",I used to watch this last one (I have only seen a few episodes of the more famous first series),so I was able to recognize them and was so happy to see them in live-action. From Scooby-Doo-Where Are You!,we got the Zombie,the Miner Forty-Niner,the Black Knight Ghost and Captain Cutler's Ghost,while Redbeard's Ghost was mentioned by Shaggy; From The Scooby-Doo Show,we have the Pterodactyl Ghost,the Tar Monster,the 10,000 Volt Ghost and the Skeleton Men,while the Ozark Witch was,again,mentioned by Shaggy And I'm so so so so happy you're gonna watch Scoob!,trust me,if you enjoyed this much the live-action ones,you're gonna love it!

Little note because I don't know why they changed it, but when Shaggy says "Why couldn't we investigate like a KFC or something?", the original line was Burger King instead (I have a DVD that has that edit version). Again, I have NO clue why the more recent showings of it changed to KFC. Which is even weirder where this movie had toy/promo tie-in's with BK. You can KINDA tell the line is ADR-ed in if you listen close, the "K" starts off with a slightly different inflection, like the recording of the line started like a millisecond too late along with being like he sharply goes with a higher inflection compared to right before it. Not to mention the shot only cuts back to him AFTER he says "KFC".
