I wasnt thrilled with the end either... that being said its still a 10/10 series s2e7 is my favorite episode this season and the opening of episode 9 is my favorite of the entire series

Janna, the figure on the door, is effectively a patron god of Piltover and Zaun as well as a playable champion in LoL. But her powers rely on pretty much prayers, the issue is, once the twin cities became divided, less people believed in her, so her powers have waned. She was once a fairly strong god, now she is probably more on par with a relatively strong mage.

She was originally a goddess in shurima till certain events. There, seafarers would pray to her for safe travels. She actually lost power due to those events till seafarers from Zaun started praying to her again. The Zaunites started praying because she's also the goddess of clean air.

If you have avoided any review for Arcane, most of them are putting the show altogether as one of the best shows ever made. The ending disappointed some people, but only because it could be more. That doesn't mean is not really good, is just that it could be more. Basically, there were supposed to be 3 seasons so they had to rush some things to fit it all in but I think they did a really good job. Some people felt the rushed parts, some didn't even notice so don't let it influence your opinion.

There's things you can nitpick or different things maybe people wanted to happen but Id be shocked to hear anyone who is so largely disappointed in the end to the point where its not worth watching or ruined the series in some way. To me the expectation was like a 10/10 ending because of how good the series was so a lot of people seeming disappointed still think its like an 8 or 9/10. Not trying to invalidate who you heard that from just giving a different perspective and what it seems like the general consensus is online. 100% worth finishing and being excited about to me!

Embessa's goal is the weaponization of hextech to use in her army. Mel stopped it in ep 1, but now she's using Caitlyn to get it

Ambessa doesn't care about Zaun. It's a means to an end for her, same with Piltover. All she cares about is getting ahold of Hextech(by whatever means necessary) and using it as a weapon.

The corruption from the "arcane" is because they are using it in an unnatural way. Mages would be the natural way.

What a terrible timing from ur friend to set you in the wrong mood as you are about to watch the best episodes of the season, ep 3 to 7 are amazing it's a shame to go into them with predisposed notions. Opinions are divided for ep 8 and 9 but mostly is due to the ending and how the story wrapped up as it felt lacking IN COMPARISON to how excellent the rest of the series has been, similar to what people feel about game of thrones where it is an amazing journey but the ending was lacking for SOME of us, but of course you should draw ur own conclusions cuz some people liked the finale and see nothing wrong with it , this is why reactors shouldn't get influenced or spoiled cuz then we don't get genuine reactions...
