Hi Roger, another great video. Well done. I can relate to your quest for the elusive 4%. I am in a similar position. Do you have any results yet from your experimentation with blinders and gun hold slightly above the trap house?

Guy...I tried the blinders and they were too distracting...I haven't given up on them ...I've just put them on hold...same with the high gun hold. The reason that I haven't stuck with those two changes is that at this very moment my score book is 142/150...I need to shoot 46/50 and then I will have 188/200 and that will put me into A grade. I am really nervous about shooting my next 50 targets because I am so close to that 94%...next wednesday there's a 50 target night shoot but I'm not going to shoot registered targets ...just clays only because I am scared that shooting a good score at night will be harder ...and then I'll have to start my next 200 targets...you are in a similar position.so you know how frustrating it is to miss out by just a few targets...stay well and I'll let you know how I go...and good luck with your extra few percent...stay well!

Hi Roger,Thanks for the reply. In my case I feel the extra 4% may come from my gun hold. I going to focus on practing my gun hold at home. I am also going to concentrate on having a good gun hold/fit before I call for the bird. The birds I miss seem to be because of inconsistancies in mounting my gun. Sometimes I know before I pull the trigger that I will not break the target because the gun is not sitting in the right position. Keep well, Guy

Guy...Dino at the club (an international shooter) said ...next time you are not happy with your gun mount or preparation ...ask yourself "am I happy to miss my next target" too often we think ...that's close enough and then we miss the target. I'm with you about the extra few targets coming from a more consistent gun mount...best of luck and stay well.

John...I got that extra 4%...and now shooting A Grade for the last 3 months...I've been in i or2 shoot offs but lost them ...I've won the veterans section quite a few times...station 1 used to worry me but its now ok ...my most missed clay is when i relax and start to think its easy

Perhaps if you analyzed where the misses were occurring - by station and the flight direction of the bird - maybe you'd find you miss more in particular situations than others. If you could video your matches that might help you review what you are doing too.

Dimitri...I used to be worried by the left swinger on station 1 ...but now the misses occur on any station...yesterday the one target I missed was a straightaway on station 5...stay well and thanks.

Hay bloke, just change one thing at a time and shoot 100 targets. then you can prove your theory's. also I think you will find you in the long run to practice your pre shooting routine and work on your mental discipline. how's your point score looking?

Greg...Point score is the same as double barrel ...about 90%...stay well and good to hear from you.

only reason I ask is in interested in how many second barrel your pulling.

Greg in competition my best score at single barrel has been 29/30 ...In a typical round I would pull 3,4 or 5 second barrels...you're right though...if my second barrel was as good as my first then I probably could find that extra 4%
