I really hope he reconsiders and comes back one more time next year, I still think he can get the record. He at least deserves to go out better than crashing out and not even finishing the tour. Ineos should bring him back for his big farewell with his old mate G and go for Merckxs record, if anyone can do it it’s those two guys. It’d be huge for British cycling and they’d be responsible for it if they made it happen which would be huge for the team too.
