To embody the spirit of Deb, “abso-fucking-lutely.” I loved Quinn. He had an ambiguous set of morals, especially given the hints of his past on the drug enforcement squad. He lived in the grey area, just like Dexter did. Quinn was a rule-breaker, just as Dexter was. They both followed a code, albeit different ones. I loved the writing.

Similar desire but instead of telling Batista everything, I'd like to see that it was Quinn who helped Dexter find a new identity, since that'd be within Quinn's wheelhouse of connections.

Nah I want Quinn to save Dexters ass for the love of Deb
@Filthyllamas2 күн бұрын
@@LemonSte Yea quinn already know that dex and deb would never kill each other, so hopefully quinn can help dexter get to his former self and slap the writer to tell them never make dexter commit murder on innocent people again, for deb's sake and her wish to keep dexter alive.
@LMargis0Күн бұрын
I think it might make some sense if he pulls some strings or shady stuff to get dexter released, either to help (knowing what he does it mostly for good) or possibly with the motive of killing him for the deb stuff. I think it'd be a nice tie-in to help explain him escaping, rather than him just pulling some houdini stuff and slipping out of custody which may be a bit bland.

"it was obviously self-defence" after dexter kills saxon pretty much says it
@theguileraven70143 күн бұрын
Tbf, didn’t that guy kill Deb (I stopped watching before that season)? Quinn covering for Dexter killing Deb’s murderer doesn’t necessarily mean he knows Dexter’s a full blown sociopathic serial killer.

And the whole thing with Deb confessing to killing Laguerta to Quinn definitely made him more suspicious that Laguerta could’ve been right and killed deliberately
@InAeternumRomaMater7 күн бұрын
And the fact that he accepted the lie of “not feeling well” is also interesting. He didn’t question it further, even though that’s a shocking twist to Laguertas murder. It obviously shocked Quinn that it was Deb, because for him it was Dexter until that plot twist. Especially when he knew Dexters mother was killed in a shipping container where Laguerta was.

Quinn might have known but I’m pretty sure the one who knew most was Matthews, as he worked with Harry to put Dexter in Miami metro so he could quietly solve unsolved crimes. That’s very obvious when he discusses on his boat as a retiree, or when Matthew makes sure (many times) Dexter is not endangered.

@egefrvr8 күн бұрын
@@StillSmok2much I am not certain of that; his feelings for Debra clouded his judgment, just like it did Quinn's. Also, he concluded that Sergeant James Doakes was the Bay Harbour Butcher already. So it was unlikely that he would bring that case back to life again.
@Mrdood9997 күн бұрын
Lundy didn't know, and I doubt Quinn knew the full story. He knew Dexter was shady, but after he had his back with the Liddy situation he decided whatever he was doing was his own business.
@StillSmok2much7 күн бұрын
@@egefrvr Lundy does know alot about serial killers and has spent his life pretty much catching them or similar people, but i feel like Lundy wouldn't really let Deb get in his way of his investigation, i mean she didn't even know about doakes or the slides til after they took Dexter. And cases can change overtime, with enough he could re open the case or start a new investigation. Lundy most likely wouldn't know Dex was the Bay Harbour Butcher but he would suspect something of dexter possibly leading to him being exposed

Quinn is just well aware of how dangerous is Dexter!
@AR_1987 күн бұрын
He didn't know. He wanted to see the guy dead, and was glad dex took care of it. Also, he'd understand dex act, the guy killed his sister. As dex was the dear brother of deb, and he saved Quinn's behind on many occasions, he just felt like covering for dex on this occasion. Love for deb and reciprocity towards dex are the explanations behind Quinn's action. He might suspect dex to be many things, but he doesn't know for sure and he'd rather not know anymore. It is a very complex and well written character.
@Blaze_275 күн бұрын
it was very obvious that Quinn knew because there were literally so many encounters indicating that like for me the biggest one was when Quinn saw pictures of Dexter dumping a body with Lumen you can see it in his face that he wasn't looking surprised by it like he already knew, Quinn wasn't the most honest or a heroic cop who always cared about justice he was smart enough to know when to back off unlike Doakes. I think Quinn knew Dexter was dangerous but when Laguerta said that Dexter is the bay harbour butcher then he knew exactly who Dexter was

i think at first Quinn was really afraid of Dexter becacuse when he manipulated the blood of his shoes to get him free, Quinn saw it as a threat and knowing that everyone who looked after Dexter was death he decided to stop for his own good and that there was nothing he could do. Later on he realises that Dexter was not just a random serial killer but as a killer of evil people and some sort of vigilante too. Quinn also understood that some people had to be killed for good as he expirience it beforehand so he might have even helped out Dexter at the end but who knows. Responder

I believe he is smart, but started off really dumb. He just understood that he was met with a wall every time he spoke to him and all the evidence points towards not only One wall (Dex) but also his sister (Deb). I believe the writers knew and director wanted us to be on our toes and it worked. I brushed it off as "idk" during the viewing (first time around) and 2nd time around I knew something was off, but thought: why would he tell... what are the benefits of him pursuing this? None. Absolutely none and you have presented that case far better than I would've (incriminating himself as accessory, creating a sh_t storm around everyone he cares about... and well, he doesn't want to be investigated because he's shadier than Dex from the outside and THAT he knows.. and well "from the outside" when you're an expert in forensics... means he's squeaky clean). Loved this show and they dont make it like this anymore. I'm still a bit shook about the necessity for all the flipflops, though. The inner conflict that dex faces is a bit unrelenting when, oddly enough, the growth of his character should've happened faster /preventing several negative outcomes. But yea.. it is a show and sensationalism was the goal. Sadly, this is why Muricans are craycray... not many Good stories that have a proper redemption arc. Only lies and beliefs. Religion, among a lot of subjects, should have been tossed off the grid a long time ago. There are many truths that are above us.. some are demonstrably true: cooperation = exponentially better than any type of exploitation. This, you could scream on rooftops and make your school thesis about it. Graduate any university about it if you're there xD. Paralleled with any notion you've learned and shipped right in the hands of an awed teacher.
