He spits his written stuff and when it’s over he actually freestyles for a lil but then falls off cause now he’s actually using his brain to create and not replicate. Thats why he asks the beat to switch then he goes back to written

Freestyling has two different styles. Off the dome and written. The term freestyle means it's free to do whatever for the song structure. "Free" "Style" Not many can actually do off the top. A written is still great because it shows the skills and flows. And a lot of the written stuff you hear from people are individual bars they have in their book that are thrown together on the spot. This is a huge radio station, not a battle, so the writtens are probably smarter lol

I'm a Texan, a screw head since the SUC were selling tapes out of their trunk but I am also a realist. None of these people freestyle. They spit verses they memorize, which is why they act out some of the lines, once they run out of what to say from those remembered lines they get lost. Which is why he constantly had to ask for more beats, to bring in a different verse. He mentions Lecrae having "the best freestyle on Sway" when all he did was recite bars from his current album

Houston also has a thing for slow beats and a flow you can recognize anywhere that’s how cyphers got popular, anyone can hop in with the classic Houston flow. This is not off the top of his head that’s why it sounds next level, he’s had countless hours perfecting his delivery and cadence that’s why it sounds next level. You can tell when he goes from next level (his written prepared stuff) to average freestyling (actually off the top) all over the video. He only actually freestyled for like 2 minutes total, just split up whenever he falls off of his written stuff. I get OT is good and all, the best to come out of Houston for a while, but his actual freestyles aren’t there, if they were he wouldn’t be spitting some written stuff acting like it’s freestyling
