In my opinion, it's just that the concept of the two maps is different and both have their pros and cons. In abw there are mostly quite difficult/baity locations but they are 20k and in a longer run you see much more repeats. I enjoy both balanced and varied, it just depends on the purpose for which they are played.

Pretty sure that BR loc is a repeat from some stream like a year ago. If you look at the actual place on the map, there's now a town there that was constructed in like 2-3 years flat, and that coverage is now totally urban.
