I've heard that they believe the PS5 is in the backend of its lifespan, which is severely disappointing if true because that would mean that for half~ of its lifespan it was unobtainable for most people, and I certainly would not buy a PS6 if it came out within the next few years.

Clearly financially many studios either stalled or cancelled development on many projects. And yes, modern online gaming has also played a part. Maybe it’s cause “the data” shows that gamers will pay top dollar for fast paced battle passes with some semblance of a game attached to it. We are at the half way point of the PS5 and I feel comfortable calling this thing a disaster. I honestly think the next generation of full time consoles will be Nintendo and nothing else. The only issue here is that Sony needs to stop doing state of play, at least when there’s nothing big to announce, cuz clearly everyone on the internet is going to think they’re going to show off something big in every state of play show. Obviously they state d that it wasn’t a showcase but it would help to not confuse people.

This console generation has turned me away from consoles. I own a mere 3 games for my PS5. I am tired of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo making us pay yearly fees to access games we already own from previous generations. I have moved to PC gaming. My Steam account still had games I purchased over a decade ago. I can boot directly into Steam and use a PS5 controller. I have all the older systems integrated into Steam playing at 4k. I am tired of these companies not giving us content or forcing us to keep paying for stuff we already own. No more. Sony just has nothing happening.

I think I'm at 4 or so ps5 games and a few ps4 games. I feel you though..there's like no games to play it seems like. Have a ton of games for the switch though because I'm heavy into rpgs.
