Good luck May, never text before. But I’ve loved watching your life, your ups and downs. You have inspired me to want to a barge. From winter camping all over the place to slowing myself down to my age. A barge will take into the countryside where I belong and sleeping on a barge is the next best thing to camping. I ditched all main socials with my name / face attached to it, stopped talking about whatever was on my mind and whatever I was doing etc., became a real habituated / compulsive thing to do. My break has been good, and has led to a deeper and more intra-personal relationship with myself & and particularly with nature, though these things are complex. We do live in an online world (at least in part), and going to the other extreme can cause damage to something which is a new part ourselves in our inter-connected age (and it's something which you do well, which you have made a success of). But yeah, a retreat into other, deeper parts of ourselves and our non-electronic connectedness is not such a bad thing. Marshall McLuhan is very relevant today imo… “The medium is the message”, “The Global Village” etc (which he did not mean entirely complimentarily). Enjoy your new adventures and your peace & quiet 🙂 (If you do come back I would love to see a boat build, and wouldn't mind seeing something about George's Peak District community as it evolves.)
