You have to wonder at the mentality of some people. They walk up to a horse who doesn’t know them so hasn’t, obviously, built up any trust with them and immediately start pawing at its face - very often in close proximity to some very large teeth. Then they either leave their hand there to turn to smile for the camera or, even worse, look around to see how many people are watching their “bravery” at abusing a horse. We know very few take any notice of the warning notices on the walls - obviously put there to warn other people off but certainly not meant for them - but it’s just plain dumb to ignore the warning signs the horse is giving them. When it pulls its head away from their hands it’s not to get a better camera angle. When it uses that very heavy skull to push them away it’s not because the horse is having a laugh. And when those ears go back it’s a clear a sign as any to “get your bloody hands off my face.” But yet they still carry on abusing the horses and then seem surprised when - after the horsey version of “asking nicely” - they move on to more affirmative action and put those teeth to good use.

Everyone keeps on yelping about the poor horses and all the bloody tourists. Get a grip because it wouldn't matter what it was people are going to do what they want when they want and hang the consequences. Do you know that little people (under 5 feet tall and older than 16) have to put up with this nonsense every single day? Idiots putting their elbows on top of their heads, endless jokes, just plain rude disrespecting remarks, and in a group not one person will say a word to the idiots other than the person it is happening to. Most people just laugh and add in their own insults calling it fun. We aren't laughing at you but with you. Hogwash! I can remember all my life being told look don't touch at home, shopping, and at school! Educating children to be respectful and responsible has been in the decline for decades. Gripe all you want let it take it's toll on your health but rest assured generations have been left uneducated because decades ago there were so many who hated strict discipline and kept relaxing it till here we are. I choose to try and be positive and look at it in a better light than most of the commentary here. Most of the comments are just as rude and disrespectful as the tourists are. Smh

I can’t agree more! The irony of a clear statement from KZbin at the top of the comments section reminding people to keep comments respectful, followed by dozens of posts calling tourists stupid, dumb, idiots, morons, and worse and - as you pointed out - their comments are often as disrespectful as the tourists. They arrogantly state that not being able to read English is no excuse…but they clearly ignored the “sign” about keeping posts respectful. You can criticize and complain without using demeaning language and belittling words. No one can take advantage unless you allow them to….people act like this because they are allowed to. Calling them names won’t change that. Until the Horse Guards put a stop to this situation , people will continue to take advantage. I think these Guards are magnificent and would love to know why they have not….
