I love you David, being in the spectrum means everything we always knew, you are not just a normal guy that goes thru life being unnoticed. You were destined to make history as an artist and inspire a bunch of mortals to try and create beautiful melodies like you do. I appreciate the privilege to share Millenium with you

I mirror Ivancho’s sentiments completely. It is your wonderful worldview and sensibility that drew me to you from the very first time I heard you live in the late 70s. My son is on the spectrum and is so much his own rare and brilliant human being. I love you David and love that you own your beautiful sense of self. Quirky, engaging and an overarching style that is inimitable. Thank you for a lifetime of letting us into the way in which you see the universe.

I was finally diagnosed with autism (high functioning) at the age of 64. My life suddenly made total sense. It was an enormous relief.

Functioning labels are misleading. The spectrum is linear and the diagnostic levels denote support needs . I was diagnosed at 67 and thought I functioned ok till I realised how much I masked and how much support I actually need.

This is inspiring, but also for me and others (I’m sure) a little grief inducing. I didn’t realise I was Aspie until a psyche managing my ADHD meds broached the subject. I was 60. For many like me, it’s ‘difficult to see the woods through the trees’. Meaning, the drama about social problems associated with being Aspie can be easily misinterpreted. It’s either ‘why am I crazy? I make sense to me, but not to anyone else’, and feeling both guilt and resentment. Or ‘why am I the only sane man on earth ?’ , and struggling to not become paranoid delusional. And all the while, I knew I was some kind of musical genius … And honestly, it turns out I am. I am now one of the best guitarists I have heard, and compose some crazy good grooves. But I’m 65, with a history of abuse and failure, who never quite made it into a musical career. I was too busy handling domestic disasters. The good news ? I get to be a musical genius ! LMAO ! I’m loving it now. And against all odds, I have built a studio, my own genre, and intend to get out there and blow them away. Or die trying ! : )

I love these videos. They are an incredible resource for me, thank you! I never saw myself as different, but never understood why I didn't get the things that were so effortless as to be insignificant to everyone else. Then, some years ago I started working with children, some of whom were on the spectrum, so I decided to do some research to better understand and support them. And uh, yeah... "oh. That's _me."_ So I became better able to understand and support myself as well. I'm coming close to my 50s and much better adjusted than I ever was. Still hitting a few snags as I'm still learning how to use my superpowers, since I'm the only one training me!
