@@milesalpha1 I see your point, just keep in mind that the MCU was always intended to be different from the comics. It's the lowest possible denominator used to serve the most important Marvel characters and take them into the best cinematic direction. Hell, they took a thousand comic books and condensed them to 20 movies. There's no perfect answer, but I think they are more reimagining the characters rather than killing them. The comics still exist, this is just movie version.

@phamvietlong54094 жыл бұрын
No, he's not. Waititi's usage of humor in Thor 3 was very excessive, the characters can't go 5 mins without making a joke of themselves. He also broke character with both Thor and Banner. Thor, while good-natured in essence, is short-tempered and grumpy most of the time. And Banner is tormented and haunted by his alter-ego, as he blamed himself for the damages Hulk's done whenever he lost control and let Hulk out. They both became too goofy and out of character. If you want a relatable and rootable character without being an excessive joke, look at the Russo Brothers' "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". It's got great moments of humor, but the overall theme is serious and it delves into Steve's struggle of purpose and identity.
@joeyluka65534 жыл бұрын
Phạm Việt Long I think the movie and character of Thor suited them and the movie, the comedy was not too much but also, seriousness was not needed in this movie the subplots in the winter soldier like HYDRA and Bucky made it a very serious situation, this is different here, it’s just a family affair
@OneTwentyOver804 жыл бұрын
@@phamvietlong5409 Ragnarok is the highest rated Thor movie by a long shot and among the highest rated of the MCU. It was an awesome, fun movie that had mass appeal. Meaning it made a lot of people happy and entertained, which is the purpose of a flick such as this.
@Emerauldy4 жыл бұрын
I agree with Phạm Việt Long, although the movie was hugely entertaining, Thor was suddenly self-aware and able to laugh at himself, as well as being able to joke around with other people. This was never something that he was able to do before. Remember in Age of Ultron when everyone was trying to lift the hammer, and it was all fun and games until Cap showed he could move it? Thor completely sobered up when that happened because someone else being as *good* as him was a threat. People like that can't make fun of themselves. Nor has he shown himself even to be able to catch half of the jokes thrown around in the Avengers films. He was a straightman like Cap. This Thor had a personality transplant because Marvel realized how lucrative non-serious films like Guardians of the Galaxy are and because it was what Chris Hemsworth wanted. It was a ridiculous film. It was a fun film, but it was more like Peter Quill Goes to Asgard than anything else.
