SNORBENS (St Albans to you outsiders.) I sing you a song of a Hertfordshire city Called Snorbens. It's old and exceedingly pretty With too many traffic jams, which is a pity. In old Verulamium, Alban was martyred. It felt into ruins when the Romans departed, Up on the hill was the place it all started. They carried the tiles and the stone up the hill Created an Abbey with prayers and skill Built us a fine city that just fits the bill! There's markets and shops and a theatre or two There's cafes and car parks for me and for you There’s schooling and families kindly and true! This town is the people, the buildings and more.... With a shadow of people who’ve been here before. The park and pubs and the market and more! I came here to live 'cos I just liked the place It has such a kind and an int'resting face There's nowhere I'd wish my home town to replace Snorbens is great, Snorbens is fine, Snorbens is home and Snorbens is mine!
