They knew about it and pocketed that info for 4 years, taking full advantage of his talent and performance. They treated him as disposable and were not only gonna burn him, but blackball him on the way out. At least this way, he exposes their wrongdoing, gets some semblance of closure, and has a better nest egg to actually afford to go through school. With his talent and prior experience, he could take an accelerated program and get a degree in a year or 2 if he put in the effort. Don't mourn for 9 years that a snake tried to poison for their own gain, use it as a stepping stone and learning experience to do more.

It was already mentioned in the first episode. he was knocked out to a different life. Mike does not have a college degree because of shenanigans him and Trevor been doing until he got F*** up with it. Just so you know Mike is a Fraud hired by Harvey. Reason why Harvey hired him because of what he sees on Mike. He's not by the book unlike those "Harvard Douche's" Mike knows how to hustle unconventionally. If Harvey has an associate just like those textbook Harvard Law students they would get fired on the first day.

You can't just go pass the bar. You need to have either graduated from an ABA approved Law School or some combination of years working under a lawyer and law school study. There is also the issue of having not graduated from Harvard Law School. Firms don't just take any rando that passed the bar.
