Sam is awesome. But just so you know they are non binary. Sam does not subscribe to one gender. Please respect that and use they/them pronouns and not him, as that denotes masculinity and Sam does not want to be referred to as that either.
@GilbertGTV4 жыл бұрын
Matty Morissette Hi Matty. I appreciate your willingness to look out for other people. I can see that you have a protective heart and the world needs more of that. I must say, however, that I do not subscribe to the ideology of more than one gender. There is male and there is female. I don’t like people policing my language. I believe we all should have the freedom to speak our mind and to live the life we choose to. Likewise, I have the same right. Sam has the right to live however he wants and identify however he wants. I don’t care that he wants to call himself a “they/them.” That is his prerogative. However, I am not going to be forced to subscribe to an ideology that I find delusional and offensive. I think we should all acknowledge that Same has expressed confusion about what male and female is and I don’t see the justice in forcing the entire population to be dictated into using the pronouns someone decides on randomly, especially since it is grammatically incorrect and isn’t even consistent with what his views are. Sam doesn’t feel like he’s “not” a male. He is aware that he is a male but likes to wear high heels. Gay men can wear any clothes they want. That doesn’t make them gender fluid. That makes them free. Sam has even admitted that he may change his mind and embrace being totally male again down the road. It’s not fair to insist and force all of society to change their language and grammar just because someone wakes up and decides to and then goes back and forth. It’s chaos. Btw, this doesn’t apply to trans people that have taken steps to present as the gender they express. And yes, I would feel differently if Sam Smith presented as more androgynous or female. But because he presents as exclusively male, “he” is the pronoun I will always use for him simply for the interest of clarity and practicality. My mind is fueled by logic, reason, and sensibility so unless you can present a factual stance other than “he wants me to call him “they”, I will still call him by his actual gender or at the very least, his gender expression. I have this stance to protect the integrity of trans people that fight tooth and nail to present as the gender they want to be referred to as.
@mattymariah4 жыл бұрын
@@GilbertGTV trans people also don’t owe you their looks. No one owes you shit. If Sam wakes up tomorrow and would like the referred to as he I will respect that, just as I respect they don’t subscribe to one gender.
