They have already introduced people being on the moon. And some other anime do continue on with travels into the galaxy and beyond. Oda has said it was an actual object. Luffy and the crew love futuristic items like robots and mechs. I’m happy to be far fetched. The One Piece is a spaceship.

Do you think Luffy wished for something like, "After I become the pirate king, I want to end everyone's suffering, remove them of their cuffs that has bound them to misery and liberate everybody to a heavenly life for the rest of the life and time?" This is a simple speculation, that may not sound much, but him being a warrior of liberation, could only mean that right? This is so vague and childish so that may be the reason why others laughed, and luffy being luffy wouldn't surpeise me if there was more to it. 😊
