I'm willing to bet good money that this cartoon would've never gotten greenlit if it wasn’t for Gwen's star power. Her brother also happened to work for Nickelodeon Animation, too. So perhaps there was some nepotism going on, depending on how much power said brother had in the company.

I remember being obsessed with this show when I was seven. I have no idea how I found this show to be the best back then. I guess because I didn’t understand Japanese culture as much as I do now, and seeing how much they overused the word “kawaii” despite none of the characters actually being confirmed to be Asian (as far as I know) makes me sick. This show actually had potential to be a slice-of-life cartoon about a popstar group if only if it had not used so much white-washing just to appease to a younger audience. It reminds me a lot of how Precure got rebranded “Glitter Force” and removed all Japanese culture from it. This show does the opposite, but not in any good way.

Up until now, the only thing I remembered about this show was how with the exception of the main one, all the girls had really weird names. Like who names their kid “Love”?!

i remember really liking this show when I was like 9, but I think I had low standards at that point. I remember thinking that the show had little rewatch value at the time, so I wouldn’t waste time going back to watch it now. and I remember liking the character design, but now I can barely stand the art style (their proportions are so weird,) I also had no idea it was made by gwen stefani lol
