They probably do that often, because they're still waiting on final tests and certifications, or because they have a contract with shops; they've already arranged for physical copies to be available by that date, and agreed to not release digital copies until then.

Stores would have probably gotten upset, since they can't sell a physical copy if someone downloaded it two weeks earlier. And if it was downloadable, those with physical preorders would just download it early and cancel the preorder. And it's not like they can put out the game for sale (they probably don't have the shipment yet).

In connection with the first theory by Nikki (7:56) games tend to get 'pushed back' and end up being released later than it originally was. So Color Splash could have meant to be released earlier, but got pushed back (probably for an event or something since the game was finished), and they failed to change the release date for the download version.

I remember when all of the game files, PNGs, and Soundtrack + All other audio was released for Fire Emblem: Three Houses right before it's released. 😳 Many unused files were found and some thought they were random unannounced characters.

I remember in 2016 i barley used my wiiu because 2 years before that i got a miiverse permanent ban and i honestly used my wiiu for its miiverse and wiiu chat because i couldn't afford a ps4 or a pc but i did get a ps3 super slim in 2015 which i used instead of my wiiu once i got banned but when i made a new wiiu account in late 2016 it was pointless sense there was the announcement that miiverse and wiiu chat will be cut and the miiverse redesign sucked

Almost perfect. If it was something related to leaking the game (not potentially destroying the 2DS) or at least something related to the Wii U, then it would be perfect. A screen designed to fill the frame of the computer seamlessly with a different message is more of what I would have in mind. Even keep all of the other details from the old computer screen (such as the emails to the side) in there as well, and no one would've noticed. Until they are told later to not mislead anyone.

It was illegally released against the original i.ps owners because it didn't meet standards. The company released it, the i.p holders got rightfully upset and it got pulled from the eshop. Now there's a lawsuit and the physical copies are all that's left. It's not a good game
