A Sabaton masterpiece. During covid there were little filmmaking going on in Europe. Sabaton managed to hire a filmproduction company to help them make this. They actually had the trenches built for the film. Bandmembers had to work hard on bettering their acting skills, the director pressed them. Note that as Sabaton don't take sides they acted as german, british and french soldiers i.e both sides. Did you recognize Tommy with his fake moustach playing a vintage guitar. Floor singing the outro makes the impact stronger. There is an actual cross still standing to mark the place.

Damn! So you’re saying they actually filmed this during covid. I can’t believe they got trenches built just for this song. Epic ! Yes I notice Tommy and no I wasn’t aware of floor singing the outro. It was a great masterpiece

That's Floor singing thru the credits! And did you notice the song is also a waltz? Sabaton brings anthems! I'm learning the words to En Livstid I Krig bc the singalong is so epic, I want to participate!

I take that as a compliment to the band and my country Amy, that you want to learn the language for this. It is a very moving song.

@Carina Rödebäk Aww, thanks Carina! Yeah I think it was my 3rd listen/watch and I got so emotional (I've never read the translation in English...but I kinda don't need to) and I decided I'm learning this. I want to be a part of this! And as a bonus...as my mom recovers from a stroke, it's perfect to have her read the words, sing the words...its therapeutic in many ways! She's just glad it's not German... Rammstein.scares her...but she LOVES Tommy!

@@amygoodson-catlady Working as a nurse in elderly care for 40 years I can only applaude what you do to help your mother to recover. Invaluable work. I'm fortunate my soon 86 mother is still healthy, managing without assistance and driving. She is kind of interested in Tommys singing when I visit, but I would never get her to listen to Rammstein.

@Carina Rödebäk OH, cool to know you're a nurse! My mom is 86, and b4 the stroke she was totally healthy, drove, everything... its been really hard on me, as I am disabled w chronic pain...but my sister has not helped at all until mom was able to walk and remember to take her meds. She takes her for 8hrs a week...thats the only "time off" I get. Some other issues slowed her immediate progress, but she's so good now. Will never drive again (we haven't told her yet), but she can now bathe herself, fix small snacks...I am requiring more of her so I'm not constantly overwhelmed. Her motivation, all along has been free VIP Journey tickets! Music therapy has had the biggest impact! For both of us!

This truce was unofficial, having been proposed by the Pope but the leaders of both the Allied Powers and the Triple Entante had refused. During this first year, truces like this were common, the two sides calling time out to bury the dead, and evacuate wounded. At this point, the officers corps from both sides were very professional, having even fought in African wars as allies. After having to reassign entire battalions who could not bring themselves to kill people they had shared Christmas with, to the point that several non-commissioned officers had to be discharged for conduct unbecoming, the weeks before Christmas 1915 the frontline officers were told that any officer or NCO taking part in a similar truce would find themselves charged as traitors and deserters. Artillery commands were told to lay smoke and canister shots all along no-mans land to ensure nobody could even share songs or presents from one trench to the other. By 1916, the loss of life on both sides made any further idea of truces a moot point, almost every soldier having lost personal friends or family.

Tommy is wearing a fake moustasche in the video. The reason is that Joakim suggested it would "look good" on Tommy. The same Joakim who has a rap sheet of kicking Tommy in the butt and once put Viagra in his beer. But they actually like each other and are good friends!
@carinarodebak9419 Жыл бұрын
And the answer is of course to tackle Joakim down and sit on him, whilst he is singing. I must say I admire his stamina, to go on singing on the floor with Chris jumping on his back.

There are ad blockers that will remove the commercials - just wanted you to know.
@KaireemReactions Жыл бұрын
Ahh I see so I normally get copyrights which prevent me to monetise on my reactions, so this must be due to the fact that this video is allowing a shared monetisation. This is a new feature in the KZbin Partner Program and it’s only on selected songs. (This comes down to the band/artist/or the owner of the song) It’s states we can share revenue if I would like to switch on my monetisation but I haven’t. It also states that they will be adding ads on this automatically which I’m unable to remove. Thank you for letting me know 😊
