Delaware is beautiful but the FLIES! We don't have construction equipment on the beach during tourist season so that was interesting. It was a very nice beach day and the outer banks of Delaware are certainly worth the visit.

If abbi is still on sertraline for anxiety, it causes your skin to burn a lot easier. In the sunlight, I do the same way my eyes are very sensitive to the sun.

Better yet, get her one of the long sleeved swimsuits that cover her neck, back etc. My friend’s granddaughter is super light red head and they get those type of swimsuits. She never burns. Burns can be so painful.

In the UK they often have tractors or diggers on pebble beaches. The pebbles are washed along the coast and they bring them back. Or build sea defences as in this case. 🚜

My old stomping grounds! I loved camping there w/my friends. The beach at the North Inlet took a recent hit from a few storms & the ocean breached the dune & flooded the road. Used to be a nice long trek to water. Hope they can restore it. Also you need to check wind direction, "winds from east flies least, winds from west flies pest"🪰 Beautiful sunset ~ much love to you all! ❤

I go to Bethany beach every year. Beach season in De starts end of June usually so the excavator was probably trying to read do the beach so to speak, put more sand on it before the Tourists come. If you are still at Bethany you should try the cottage cafe

We’ve had many of the rackets for years. We mostly use them for mosquitos at camp but flies too. You don’t have to hit them so hard, they will just fly into it when you put it near. It is very rewarding!

Poor Abby, she is always sun burnt, i burn fast too, I’m not trying to be a pain but a friend of mine died of melanoma not long ago 😢 I know it’s difficult cause she won’t wear a hat etc, but I’d just get the spray sunscreen for her and douse her in it every few hours 😊 also a linen shirt if she will wear it, If she’s burning that fast it could be a medicine??

There’s actually 2 high tides every 24 hours and 50 minutes so it isn’t always at night. The tides and times change daily

Hubby has a fly swatter like that.....I also got him a gun that shoots salt that he loves! Flies are horrible up here the last few years here. I saw something last week that said to fill a squirt bottle with Pine Sol and squirt it all around your doors on the outside and on your patio. Apparently it works great. By the way, my husband does the same "manly evil" laugh when he zaps flies too lol I went camping one May here in PA and was in the pool for an hour and it was only 72 degrees out. I got such a burn, my whole back blistered. So many people told me they would give me stuff to take the burn out. One lady told me that she was in a season spot and to come to her trailer to get some vinegar to put on my back, even if it was 2:00 am. Don't you love campers??? I miss camping so much. I grew up camping in a Coleman 8 person canvas tent where my parents brought us all cots to sleep on with sleeping bags, a camper kitchen, etc. I don't know how they fit it all the back of a Country Squire station wagon. That was a step up from going to Wildwood with 3 kids and all of our clothes laid out in the trunk (in the front) of our Volkswagon Beatle. We made it to the beach every year though! As we grew up, they bought a 16 foor travel trailer and we LOVED going camping in that. The last time I camped was with my brothers when I was about 38 or 39. We were determined to go for the weekend. It had rained all day the day we left and continued to be that way all weekend long. It was in the Allegheny Mountains, about 2 hours away from our home. We slept on the tent bottom in our sleeping bags and our sweatpants and hoodies. It was 36 degrees at night. The next morning we woke up and I went to the wash house and was brushing my teeth when a couple ladies walked in and said, "Did you see that tent? I think that was the only tent in the whole campground. They must have been freezing last night." I turned around and raised my hand and told them that was me and my brothers lol. They told us if we got too cold the second night, to come to their trailer and sleep on their floor. I told them our grandparents lived 5 miles away and we would go there if it was too much for us. We made it but it was one we won't ever forget!!!

If you have not already done so try a stronger sunscreen. I burn through spf 30 also which is what most people use but I have to use like spf 50.
