Love it! I sure wish the video would surface of the year before Mrs. Mathis retired while we were still high stepping 8 to 5. We kicked butt. Drum major sprained her ankle at the Cotton Bowl and we (and the drum major) still went on with the show. We laid on the field that year. And, I think we did that same funky chicken move too. We won and I’ll never forget that standing ovation. The adrenaline that hit when the crowd went wild was like no other. I shed a few tears watching this video. Thank you for sharing Lori! ❤️❤️❤️

I LOVED this performance! Yes Mike Harris/Tim Sharp and my buddy Jeff Lynes made this an awesome crew! I miss these days! AHMO AND TWB!

It's funny. I was in TWB in 89-93. We played this same song. Had many of the same moves. Wondering if whichever director we had at the time (Barge or Lipe) reused old drill sheets for our show.

I hate to say this, but this isn't from 1983.... this is 1984. I know because it was my first year in the band and we did Thriller... also, you can see Shellene Foster slip and drop her trumpet... I remember that like it was yesterday... NOT COMPLAINING.... VERY GLAD TO SEE IT AGAIN! Have been looking for it forever!

I agree with you...This was the first time I went and saw the marching band in competition. I remember loving the big band sound. Those were the days.
