1:43:30 modern Carmen Sandiego is actually not a villain. The most recent series on Netflix has her as the protagonist and is all about her origin as a Master Thief, and her discision to leave the evil organization V.I.L.E. to become a globetrotting hero. HOWEVER! I believe this ranking is supposed to be about the games, not the TV shows. And in the games I am pretty sure she is still ALWAYS the villain.

I'm not gonna bust news outlets' balls for posting spoilers because that is something that some people want. But it would be nice if they didn't put the spoilers in titles and thumbnails so that if it pops up on your feed, you are instantly spoiled whether you want to or not. Some outlets take care with that, but plenty don't at all. It just sucks that you have to go full media blackout to avoid people ruining something you care about. So that question hit home for me at least.

It's amazing how different my list of best detective games and best detective characters are. I like doing actual detective gameplay so the games that come to mind are Paradise Killer, Outer Wilds, Return of the Obra Dinn, Telling Lies etc. But from those the only one with a memorable detective character would be PK with Lady Love Dies

@easyallies might be something worth talking about that Sea of Thieves is currently the most pre ordered game apparently on PS5. Skull and bones reception might have something to do with that.. like pirate vibes that havent quite delivered for people but keeping the hunger going? But also some good vibes seeing xbox exclusive being desired this highly once its on more platforms just like the Sony exclusives slowly getting on steam.

I felt every day of the thirteen years that it took for JC's Avatar 2 to come out and everything I could "spoil" myself on I did for Way of Water and it didn't ruin the movie for me at all, I loved it and I'll do the same for the third flick as more info arrives in 2025. What?! Ryo hasn't even solved a single case! It has been ages and he is no step further catching up to the culprit! Instead he is playing video games, collecting figurines, driving forklifts, playing pachinko, betting on chicken races, running after some chinese girls... It's almost like he isn't even trying to solve the murder of his father! In fact, he may be the worst detective in video game history.

@@creamycoffee I've done more REAL detecting as Ryo in videogames than any other character I've played. In the second game you even have to listen to mini tapes to get the clues you are looking for. And Ryo found much about his own father and learned more about the identity and mission of Lan Di and has successfully interrupted his operations on several occasions. "Detecting" has nothing to do with arresting and prosecuting, and in every pure detective movie I've seen time is taken for life and other events. The other chuckleheads on this list, and Geralt included (who should have been in the top ten), take their time with other nonsense as well, none of them really has to contend with the constant march of time, only Ryo does.
