This is so timely, and so useful! We are all up to our elbows in packing materials these days, and kraft paper is too darn good to waste! You can iron it, decorate it, potato relief print on it, even use PVA glue to make faux distressed leather! We're not ashamed to admit, we save and iron crumpled paper, and even save our tuna sporks for stirring paint! Thanks, Mira, for another great lesson!

Side note:congrats Dorf on being nearly done with your training, I hope you both can get some more sleep soon, and if you iron the paper on a non-steam setting it wouldale it easier to draw on. 🧡

I tried to get Mom's housecoat to fit in the wrapping paper tube. When it wouldn't all fit, I used a small box on one end to hold the rest. Mom was convinced I got her a plunger, and she kept saying it looked like a wrapped plunger under the tree for her. She never thought of anything else it could be. Back in the day of VHS tapes, Dad would get me a classic Disney movie and wrap them in a box with some nickles to rattle and half a brick for weight so it blended in with other gifts so it wasn't obvious.

I am breathing a huge, happy smile of relief that I chose to watch this video just now. I had just watched another art video which left me really stressed, and your happy, wholesome, relaxed time together has helped to put me to rights. Thank you! You may also have solved my problem for my Christmas cards, which are A5 size and will take a *lot* of paper to make envelopes. I have 24 cards in the making and one roll of Christmas paper will only make four envelopes. You have reminded me that I have a stack of Kraft paper and a lot of pretty ribbon. I don't think I'll have time to decorate the paper (the cards are taking sooo long to colour!!! Why did I choose to draw this???), but I do have some Christmas dies I could cut for labels. So, another thank you for reminding me that I have this stuff!!! 😊🎁

Mira, this was a brilliant idea! I love the different designs you both created. My favourites were, the first one and the last ones you did, and the stick man Dorv painted. I have used that paper to bulk out wire armatures for sculptures, it works just as well as baking foil, but it costs nothing. I have also used the paper just like paper mache. When it's pasted on to a balloon, it can make a mask for example, and it dries super hard. Tomorrow I am going to take out my acrylic paint pens and my metallic paints, and get my 6yo granddaughter to paint some wrapping paper with me for fun. She's gonna love it! So thank you for the inspiration! Also, please would you ask Dorv nicely, if he would come on another video and work alongside you again very soon. You guys are so much fun together. True couples goals. God bless you and all those you love. Merry Christmas to you all from a very chilly village in the UK.

Missed opportunity for evil laugh after talking about the laminated present. 😊 I do this, it’s fun. One year we gave a present shaker bubble wrap, wrapped around and around in boxes and very package taped. Another year we put the gift in a small box and put bigger and bigger boxes like a nesting doll and each was filled with something that rattled. However, I am the careful… extremely care unwrapper who likes wrapping paper. Most started just giving me the unused wrapping paper instead of wrapping. 😅
