I started MX racing at 8 years old on a Hodaka Super Rat, was a tall kid and eventually hit 6’5””. Raced that for a few years and went with a CR125 Elsinore until about 1976 and bought a KX250. I eventually made it to the 250 expert class as a teenager and had a new KX every year. Until I graduated HS and got busy with life I guess. I love the old bikes. I currently am 61 and ride a KTM300XCW. When the smell of two strokes just gives you a feeling. 😉🙂🤙🤙🤙
@thatbikersimon Жыл бұрын
It sounds like you have a deep and enduring passion for motocross racing and a particular fondness for two-stroke bikes. CR125 Elsinore and KX250 reflects a significant journey in the sport. Your transition from a young racer to maintaining this interest into your sixties, now with a KTM shows a lifelong dedication. That unique feeling evoked by the smell of two-stroke engines is something many enthusiasts can relate to; Your story is a fantastic testament to these bikes. 🏍️💨💨💨👍

I loved the metal tanks bike used to have. When Honda factory riders started extending the seat to add some padding to the tank, I thought it look cool and racking the family jewels is a feeling almost all men/boys have felt at some point in their lives. If you have, you liked the idea. And paint looks better than plastic. Especially Honda red at that time.
@thatbikersimon Жыл бұрын
I totally agree the metal tank is iconic. I’m just working on my first Honda Xl 250R 1982 ( video part 1&2 is on now if you’ve not seen it) the tank is my favourite part of the bike or tho I’ve got to get the pings and dents out first. 👍

Then you are the one to ask. The narrator described the 1978 893 Jawa grass racer as displacing 990 cc. FOR A SINGLE CYLINDER BIKE?? If that is true I'm surprised I thought the racing Jawa motors were 500 cc.

But, yeah, you're just walking around showing these bikes. You don't really don't know anything about them Do you? You just walked by KX175 or was it at 125 or 250? The kalasaki, what a beautiful bike. That is, and then you didn't explain anything about the Suzuki RM. You just said so here's a Suzuki that bike has one of the most devastating power ban. Out of all the old dirt bikes Only a very skilled professional rider should even attempt to write a bike like that I think it's great that you went to this vintage dark bike show. But most of those bikes in there I for professional riders.
