I know this’ll probably end up on the higher point of the iceberg compared to other games, but the Oddworld quintology games (especially Abe’s Oddysee and Soulstorm) are a good example of disturbing games. The main series revolves around Abe, an alien known as a mudokon who must free himself and his fellow mudokons from slavery after finding out his oppressors, The Glukkons, plan on murdering him and his friends to harvest meat from and sell as meat products for profit. On top of the less then subtle but none the less effective anti-meat industry message, the game creators use this story and it’s twisted oddball humour to bring light on real-world issues and themes such as third world exploitation, environmental destruction, species extinction, corporate greed and the horrors of capitalism. All while also giving players challenging gameplay in levels filled to the brim with rich atmosphere. Sorry if I sound gushy about this, I’m just a huge fan of Oddworld and I more then recommend you give the series a look, even if just for the iceberg video! 💚💙💜

As someone who's on the autistic spectrum as well as being a member of the furry fandom and LGBTQ+ community, I can say that the Zooier than Thou podcast is a downright bastardization of all of these communities. I've noticed people using disabilities, particularly autism, as an excuse for their criminal behavior, and It's genuinely disgusting that that's the case as it vilifies a whole group of people that are just trying to get by with a condition that they cannot help. We aren't dangerous or malicious, but it's things like Zooier than Thou that makes it seem like we are. Truly disgusting. even if the kids were 16, 17 years old, him receiving images of that nature from a minor would still be a crime. may of been legal for them to of met up to do the deed but images would of been a big no. him thinking she could consent at all to sending images when the law says that even having any images of a minor is a crime. i mean in the context of what the images showed.
