For this video while on a road trip from Rochester,NY to Miami Florida and then back-Jon decided to take a pit stop in here in Richmond to let me review his badass little Fiat Abarth! It was a great opportunity to drive something very different and see how it felt driving this little go kart around in the rain. As always, thanks for watching and stay awesome. There are so many reasons to get one if you're an auto enthusiast. Just so many... -that awesome exhaust -good Italian styling -great interior design -can be modded to be a rocket -the most fun you can have without breaking your wallet -isn't too expensive to fix -racing heritage -the looks on the faces of ricers and Mustang drivers when you smoke them = priceless

I’ve beaten dozens of these in my fa5 all I have is fbo no tune act clutch and lightweight flywheel
@mattilinan
@mattilinan 4 жыл бұрын
don’t get me wrong, i love me some cinquecento abarth action and i’ve even considered getting one, but unless it’s running fbo’s and like a stage 3+ tune w/ ethanol blend you are beating no mustang in a 500 Abarth. now on a tight B road thats a different story. you can probably outhandle most large muscle cars, so you got that going for you.

@@mattilinan I’ve actually beaten a couple of mustangs with my abarth and my mods are coilovers, front strut bar, gfb diverter valve, catless Down pipe, upgraded coils, intake the go pedal and a piggyback tune, every mustang that’s challenged me has lost from a roll that is never went from a dig

Hehe sewing machine shredding tires xD. Not the type of car I'd get, but they always make my smile when I see them. And concerning the wheel alignment...Fiat seems like it's still hunted by its bad history of build quality...unfortunately. And just like Parry said....badass OUTRO! (Looks like Mr. Patterson pulled the After Effects Card ;) )

Nice... Now this is a review. Glad to see people really starting to appreciate the Abarth for what it is. We drove it last year, posted it on my channel last year and honestly almost took it with us as our support vehicle for the Italian Stampede in Cali last year. its roomy and to be honest it kept up surprisingly well with some of the exotics on the run. Few mods and BAM, what a fun car. Great review as usual bar none. Kudos.

I've owned quite a few performance cars over the years - three Porsche 911s (two were 930 turbos), a Jag XK8, a Triumph GT6+, a couple of Dodge Stealths, and several others. My current Abarth (with a Magneti Marelli ECU piggyback, cold air injection and Forge blow off valve) is brutally quick and has been the most fun to drive of any car I have ever owned. I see you smiling in your video. You can't help but love this car.

A friend of mine, is owning one of these beast things and we replaced the turbo with another bigger one (including sport exhaust system by akrapovic) and let the Abarth chipping up, cause of the turbo... now it has about 250-300 hp and it feels like its coming right out of the hell - if you open the channel of the bypass air in take system, the air flushes extremly loud out of the "airbox" - Abarth 500s make so much fun! Big thanks for reviewing - thumbs up, keep it on ! And sorry for bad english, still learning :D

After upgrading the turbo, ECU, exhaust,short shifter, and injectors Dyno @310.3bhp. Didn't think this car would be this reliable. I recommending getting a used one. Mine was 15k with 18k miles on it. Running about a car length at the strip better than the 5.0coyote mustang. You gotta test drive these things major attention.

I fell in love with this little monster when i discovered it back in 09 and got one as soon as i could in 2014. It's not the fastest or the most nimble by any means, but it is exciting. It's a sense of occasion to drive it. What really did it for me was driving through a crowd at a local Cars and Coffee, people gawking over Lambos, Ferraris, etc, that was so dense that GTRs and the like couldn't get through but my little Abarth split the crowd with people breaking necks to see what was causing such a ruckus all commenting about the noises it was making. Few cars, especially for less than $80k+, can do such a thing.

@@braydencrawford3048 no issues from daily driving. i auto-crossed mine for 2-3 years and it did well, but because of the autocross i used aftermarket wheels, lugs, etc and there is wear and tear on mine not from daily driving. but highly recommended the car is too fun even just driving around normal streets in daily life hahah. you dont even need to make any mods on it for racing, just race tires. its basically stock ready for racing. maybe maybe you could switch to better brake pads if you are racing.

I am currently driving a Peugeot 106 with nearly 19,300 miles. And is considered since its release a daily drive car here in Italy or Europe (even on the highway). And it's also normal that the 500 is used daily. Then even a car with small sizes make the difference compared to a big/huge one. As well as many other hatchback, including: "your" Ford Fiesta, the VW Polo, Renault Clio, A1 and many others such as the Peugeot 208 or even the bigger Focus, Golf, A3 and MB A-Class. Sorry to read a lot of criticism about these "tiny" cars, but nowadays these cars make a difference compared to big v6 / v8 with powerful engines when you can pull out 200hp or more from a 1.6 liter. Which is a shame that such cars are not totally imported in the United States. Luckily, people like David and subaruwrxfan appreciate these hatchback! Geetings from Italy!

I'm just about to turn over 33k on my 2012 Abarth. It's a great commuter vehicle. 30.6 mpg average over that mileage (always in sport mode) with most of it being city roads. Yes, it is set up with negative camber for better handling and you have to get the tires rotated with every oil change or you'll wear one side out. This is my third Pittsburgh winter in it and it's never let me down. You do have to run 91 octane fuel, so the gas is a bit more of an expense.

The only Abrath i have ever liked is the Abarth 131. This review makes me like the 500 Abarth a lot more. Thanks David!

Awesome to see this car again after subaruwrxfan's channel. It's such a sick little beast of a car! :)

I own a 2013 fiat 500 abarth and every single thing he says is 100% true for me. Couldn't have described it better myself. The little abarth also get surprisingly low mpg's, i'm only getting around 23ish with mostly urban 35-45ish driving.

+Steel Nomad lol pathetic mpgs I'm beating that with a highly modded version. Something is not right with yours or your calculation

Since the guy who owns the car is replying to most of the comments, your Fiat is badass!

I really like the Abarth.. My car has same motor, but bigger car.. sound very nice..Even on stock exhaust, the sound is amazing. I have the Dart, and it almost sounds like a SRT Neon. After full throttle or half throttle, the popping sound is awesome
