Cassper's debut track 'gusheshe' he was featuring koolkat. Cass also took malumkoolkats dance moves and made it his own the basically ran with the style. "I heard you're blowing up now in the city of gold, when I go to Maftown, I'm gonna sit on your throne" Gauteng(which means city of gold) is a province/state of ours, where Johannesburg is in. Johannesburg is basically known as the city of gold and is the centre of basically everything, so think of it as a mainstream market. So cass was finally blowing up this side. Maftown is where Cassper is from. Aka had a performance that side. "You tryna fill up the Dome, well I'm gonna fill up your home" Cassper made history by being the first solo hip hop artist in the country to fill up The Dome ( it's basically our Madison square garden) & during the same weekend of that show, AKA was performing in Maftown, casspers home town

Let me break this down for you: So AKA has had the most consistent and most successful career in SA Hip Hop.. from day one he has dominated the game. Now the thing with SA rp is that people dubbed English rappers as wannabe Americans and that is the reason why cats like Cassper sell more than AKA cause people in SA relate to the local languages spoken in his music but ANYWAY.. Meanwhile in the honey dew there was this budding artist named cassper nyovest who was in the cut..following the heavy weights like HHP and AKA around.. absorbing and learning. Somewhere along the line AKA and Cass had creative differences and Cass broke away... Now Cass dropped his first break out song Gusheshe were he really rode the styles of the people he hung out with like AKA and OKMALUMKOOLKAT.. MALUMKOOLKAT is the originator of the style that Cass came out with... This created tension and subtweets and all other subliminal shot tween Cass camp and AKA camp... at this point a heavy weight in the SA music industry called them out for talking to much and the potential violence that the beef was bringing saying they should put the beef into music. So AKA released Composure. Composure addresses the situation more than just Cass. Just to address the video trash.. charge me 80K for beat bar... So AKA did a song with one of Cass homies called Anatii called THE SAGA.. It was a HUGE HIUGE HUGE hit but then the video came out and recieved alot of criticism.AKA and ANATII then had a fall out and we assume it was based on the fact that AKA being the more talented one adn better artist (arguably) carried the song and hence he said people listened to THE SAGA for AKA. anyway Cass responded to Composure with some excuse of a song called Dust To Dust where he was completelyoff beat and quite frankly it was a forgettable song. He tried again on a song called PHUMAKIM but just like Ether vs Takeover.. the general consensus was that Composure was the winner.. but like the takeover by Jay Z.. Phumakim and Dust to Dust are carriedby Cass die hard fans. Anyway there were attempt by AKA and Cass to reconcile but they just to not fit... so they dominate the game in their own lane... moral of the story: Cassper is a huge and for the people... while AKA is more of the better artist with who releases songs with FAR more longevity than Cass At the end of the day.. local language speaking rappers will and have always outsold and filled bigger stadiums that English speaking rappers... it does not always speak to it meaning the other makes better music. Vernac rappers as the local language rapper as referred to will always dominate. yea...

Hey ThatFireTeam, I’m Vuyo aka Krash.theEther, I’m a definitely a scholar of the hip hop culture worldwide and I live for this and I do really appreciate the focus on our hip hop in the continent. So to start of the culture is not gang related in our country-none, we don’t fight for turf, i live for the love and rhymes. We love hard bars and also throw some of the maddest parties. But I’m gonna now bring you into your main curiosity or break down a come up ofa rap super star how it works on in this country of ours. It’s centered on the Joburg scene mostly, but the country has some of the dope lyricist out. So to take on your current discovery of the beef between Mega and Mufasa. It’s all about the how you connect with scene, the one guy had been brought up through the industry ( check out a crew Entity) and one guy is an outsider from the Joburg scene. So Mega worked his way onto alliance of the hottest MCs on his come up, which at one point some where part of the outsiders from Joburg ( check out Morafe, HHP,Zeus, JR also Pro-ProKid find Khuli Chana..similarity to Slum Villa sound but in motsako, which is Mufasa rap style) Now Mufasa can fresh out just when Mega made national status, controlling his wave with club baggers and the charts undoubtedly his first album (24/7/366) is classic drop from us. Then Mafasa was on warm up. That’s when his Gushese just hit the streets and it’s a hard track and he independent not like how Mega has stabilized team supporting his breakthrough, so I believe Mufasa was kind making noise inside the JSec with upcoming rappers ( RickyRik and OkMalumekoolKat) while not being expected as part the new wave of rappers, which is possibly after Mega announcement of the next album,also Mufasa was exploring his hit track and I believe timing was everything to his break. Look at like this, you have the old boys backing you the city is yours, the culture loves to hate you, so play your cards right, that’s when Mega I believe at one interview that “he doesn’t recognize Mufasa’s cred in SA Hip Hop, then he dropped a single called Jealousy, which a statement to haters, Mufasa dropped a single Tsibip ( hard AF! track, please find a translator for Tswana) then twas on. Mufasa dropped Doc Shebeleza, then he was in, and his been kicking ass ever since, I listen to both artists and I can say one has strengths and weaknesses, but from where I’m looking one is having a better piece of the industry due his up bringing and not taking anything from his talent(Mega got made ill tracks) but to me Mufasa is in it with his pure determination not fail his dream and his done that well, Take like one is the People’s Champ and the other is a glorified brain child of the industries idea of SA rap star.
