As someone who has narrow feet and loves nubuck, these seem perfect for me who has been considering more grounded shoes. $130 seems a little steep but idk, I’ve never bought barefoot shoes so it’s kind of strange to pay so much for what’s essentially less shoe lol.
@thatfitfriend Жыл бұрын
I feel that! I always think the same when dropping $150 USD on models from Vivobarefoot and other companies, LOL. Maybe I'm just numb to it... They're great, though, and should last you a bit if you rotate them in with other models. But if you can find them on sale...that would be the move!

The reason they’re more expensive is the same reason iPhones are so expensive. Sort of. It’s a simple matter of supply and demand. For the iPhone, people who already own one likely know they last a while if taken care of. Apple knows this too, so they increase the price to counter-balance the lack of immediate repeat customers. Don’t confuse that as an excuse for the “Apple tax.” That is real, and the price is artificially increased more than necessary. In the case of minimalist shoes, there just isn’t that big of a market. Sure, there are plenty of shoe enthusiasts and runners interested, but they are in the minority of consumers. Most are just buying shoes for work, and it takes a special kind of masochistic idiot to go to work in something with no padding. Especially if you’re expected to stand and walk a lot, like in a hospital, retail or restaurant. You get used to it, yeah. And the foot health benefits are tangible. Anyway, most people aren’t buying barefoot shoes, so companies like Xero have to increase prices to stay afloat.
@TinkerTailorSailorTy Жыл бұрын
@@sauldickson4079 the mistake many companies make is raising the prices as if their product has a higher demand than it actually does when their strategy should be to lower prices to beat out their competitors. That’s especially how you get ahead in a growing market. What your saying makes sense but the other side is that every unnecessary dollar added to the price = tons of potential customers lost probably to a more affordable brand. Again what people are paying for when buying minimalist shoes is less shoe. This means there isn’t exactly a lot of room for technological innovation of the product so of course people are going to go for the more affordable shoe because that’s just what makes sense. And because it’s a growing market, a considerable portion of customers are going to be new customers who want to dip their toes into these shoes to see what the fuss is all about and the large majority of those new customers won’t want throw their whole wallet at something they know they may not like or return for.

I am a chiropractor and I wear these shoes to work. I love them because they look a little nicer than a lot of barefoot shoes, as well as they don't look like clown shoes.

Hey Jake, love your reviews. Quick request for shoes that are branded as "casual" or "everyday" - can you mention how it is to drive in them? There are certain brands that sell nice light training/walking shoes but they are impossible to drive in, so you need another pair anyway.

Hey man great video as always. I need help with sizing for a friend. He wears a snug size EU 41 on the HFS with not much room in the front but he's ok with it. I will now order some Glenns for him as a gift. Since the HFS supposedly runs small, the Glenn in the same size should be perfect for him. His feet are not very wide but I'm afraid of the leather upper being more restrictive than the mesh on the HFS. Should I get the Glenn in the same size as his HFS or should I get it half a size up? Thanks!

Hey dude. Im a UK size 10 with quite a narrow foot. However they only have it in 9.5 or 10.5 Do you have any opinion on which may fit better? I hope 9.5 will fit, I know barefoot shoes tend to be spacious. All the best
@thatfitfriend9 ай бұрын
9.5 would be first suggestion before going up. Swimming in a leather shoe doesn't sound the best and could cause some friction on the heel! Keep me posted
