Gurl why on earth you letting comments control your life. This is YOUR food getting under YOUR nails... in YOUR house, on YOUR channel. Screw the comments, it would only matter if you serving strangers in a restaurant or if you had guests over. This is for your family and I'm sure they love you and they don't care that you use those god given hands to prepare their meals... so why should these idiots who comment matter? Cook with love and cook freely honey

I'm an old lady and was staring at a chicken wondering what to do with it, now I have a GREAT recipe! Thank you.💛 UPDATE: I had to write to you again because your recipe is the first hot meal I've had in many weeks. I am coping with many illnesses and not always able to cook, so often just have toast & cheese for dinner. This took a couple of hours to stew, since I wanted the chicken very soft. But I had to interrupt dinner to write because it is so warm and delicious I had to thank you again, this will be a treasured recipe, for me and my daughters. G-d Bless.

This recipe is so delicious!!! I just modified the recipe a little and used 4 tbls. of flour instead of cornstarch to make the gravy thicker, added 2 bay leaves instead of one, used Creole seasoning instead of the complete seasoning, and Kitchen Bouquet, to give color and taste. Also I used my pressure cooker (20 min. cook time) instead of a Dutch Oven. This chicken is absolute 🔥🔥🔥.

This recipe is AMAZING!!!!! Have made it twice so far (minus the celery but everything else like the video) and my family of 6 all love it so much. Everyone always wants seconds. First time I used corn starch and heavy cream, second time rice flour instead of cornstarch (2tbsp) and no heavy cream. You really need to cook it down, I cooked it covered for 20 and uncovered for 30 and it was perfect. When I cook it uncovered during the second half I turn the heat up a little so that it can reduce faster. It will thicken a bit more as it cools. I used Cajun seasoning like she said instead of seasoning salt because I didn’t have any. This will be in our rotation from now on. Thank you!

Solid recipe, going to make this tomorrow...BUT...FYI folks, avoid Complete Seasoning...it's mostly MSG and other additives that you should avoid, that goes for most of Badia products (personally, I avoid that brand in general)...if you want to imitate "complete" seasoning you can use garlic, onion, cumin, salt, pepper, oregano, smoke pap, and parsley, just to name a few...there's really no set way to make your own, it depends on the flavor you want to achieve but I highly encourage you to do so

I had 3 lbs of buffalo wings that I needed to use ASAP so I made this. I actually caramelized the veggies a bit like you did. because I like it like that. My gravy was a little runny but no worries, I dissolved some more cornstarch in water to thicken it up and it worked great. I served it up with garlic mashed potatoes & buttered peas. My Black American family is from So Carolina and Florida..we always put a cut up chicken with skin in a pot of seasoned water for about a hour and 15 min then add the Carolina rice...the juice was called Pot Liquor

this is very similar to a cajun smothered chicken, one of my favorite dishes my grandma used to make. She would use mushrooms and carrots in addition to what veggies you used, and a ton of fresh parsley and green onion toward the end. I make it all the time

I made this last night and man ohhhh man. Definitely had to “trust.the.process”. I slick can’t cook😂 i need the exact ingredients to make something shake. I used 4 breast/2 legs & I just kept thinking it wasn’t enough meat & it’s gonna be SALTYYYYY🫢 But I made it anyway cause i was already invested lol . I had every single ingredient already , down to the heavy cream!!! But I didn’t have dried thyme, only “ground thyme” ,ehhhh it made my chicken like green/blackish. My man was like “dang that jerk chicken look good” 😩😩😩😩 I was like omg I hope this ain’t nasty, my chicken don’t look like hers AT ALL but I kept going… trust the process…listen , the end results!!!! I was shook!! It was so good!! I roasted some broccoli & carrots , w) a side of white rice. My fiancé ate basically all of it & my 5 yr old asked for more, ain’t never seen him clear 2 leg bones like that. He was feeling it obviously cause he ate all his veggies too🫢 (drizzled a little chicken juice over it) SMASHED! 😂😂😂 There was only 1 piece left and that’s cause I wanted room for dessert 🫠 but I will be making this again and again.. as black ppl this is a once a week meal at least 🤣 I’ma do all thighs like the video next time.
