@@retro-ladyThe yellow thing is just a lock that attaches the handle to the vaccum. Out of the box It’s disassembled. Remove the key (yellow lock), stick the handle on and reinsert the ket and twist to lock the handle to the vacuum.

Today, I saved a UD70171 from the landfill. It looked like another example of a vac whose owner didn't even try to maintain it--it was clogged and the filter hadn't been cleaned. (As an aside, thankfully, nobody cut the cord off.) But what surprised me is that there was an accumulation of debris at the _top_ of the dirt cup, which had clogged up the filter and the cyclone and blocked the entrance at the top of the dirt cup. Hopefully this does not become a recurring issue, because I would think that anytime you use a bagless vacuum, that most of that dirt and dust should go to the _bottom_ of the dirt cup.

Good video. I have had several of these and love dirt devil, the handheld was great for apt turns, paint chips you name it. I wanted to see you use the accessories. The vacs I have had you pull the handle from the stem of the vac and it becomes your cleaning wand, button release. I do need a bit of wand so as not to bend too much cleaning corners. The release button below is to clean clogs. This last move I got the vac really full and had to spend some time removing debris from two locations in the hose. Informative otherwise, Ill consider the bissel. The dd I had got full of broken glass and in a fit of frustration I tossed it.

I live in an apartment complex that's full of University students. Every summer many of them move out & I retrieve at least 4-5 DD vacuums from the trash. It's not that they're a bad product, it's because these kids are generally lazy - they never empty the dirt cup until the thing is so packed with debris it loses suction so they toss it in the trash. I simply take them, empty them, clean them up, & sell them for 20 or 25 bucks a piece. This month I have fixed & sold three, I've kept one of the small DD 3 in 1 Vibes for myself along with a Black & Decker air swivel vacuum. Currently working on a DD Power Express getting that ready to sell, but I cannot unlock the dirt canister for some reason which is why I'm here.

really random question as I try to figure out how to clean mine - the foam around the pleated filter in the dirt cup - can I submerge that in water? it has a gunk on it. I can't figure out how to maintain that !

That yellow knob in the back you just mentioned that's to lock the handle in when your assembling that's where the knob comes in so when you put it in you turn the knob to lock it

I just got this vacuum, but mine doesn't have that yellow cover where the hose goes, but from what you said about it being upright on a space with dirt sounds like I wouldn't need it if I don't keep it upright while vacuuming with the hose out. Thanks for that tip. The yellow knob that you said you didn't know what it is for, it's to keep the handle in place. When you turn it, the top part of the vacuum comes off.

Omg thank you! Mine doesnt have a cap there either and when I use the hose dust will come out of the lower hole and I didnt know what to do. I'm too scared of spiders to get close to them so I use fhe hose to pick them up lol

Well guys I bought this new at Target.. it should be $60! It was a cool $15 more here, and it was On Sale! Oh bugger! So, I latched on your video because the bottom hose is filthy, and I wanted to check out Dr. KZbin.... As usual (not my 1st time) I washed the filter(s), cannister, took off & washed the floor plate, etc and now 👉 I just took the screws out of bottom crook neck and it's attached to motor so not going any further. Wrapped a damp dishrag around a butter knife and scooped it out..carefully.... Slowly. Man it looks like mildew! With the super oily black dirt I have here -it is disgusting!, and it kinda stinks. No, I'm lying. It really stinks. - it looks like mildew down in that bend... Took several water run thrus before the water ran clear~ Yes it's light though! And I love the cyclone action..No vacuum emoji?! What? Okay Thx for your video! 💫🧘💞

i dont know if anyone noticed, but the single wheel is sitting to high. the black ridge at front of wheel is supposed to fit under the brush roll cover plate. when set correctly the arm of the wheel rests on the belt cover.

After detail cleaning my barely used Endura Devil! It does not power on! I’ve checked the switch, belt and roller, All Good! Hard to believe the motor is burnt as it’s barely used! Maybe 2 hours of use! I think I’ve emptied canister 2/3 times! Any thoughts on why it won’t turn on???

I can't attach the easy release wand to the suction plastic accordion like tube. have no clue why. Apparently it just clicks in place from a previous video. Mine does not click. Please help

You might have to bend the black tab back so it can click into the groove, that's if your model has a wand handle, if it just had a Grey tube, it pushes onto the hose

4:24 mine does not have the cover, using the hose makes dust fly everywhere. There wasn't one in the box or anything

I just bought one of these and unboxed it. Disappointed in the lack of height adjustment. Is the turbo a lower decibel machine than the devil? And i wish someone would make a budget vacuum with slightly less noise than a Boeing 737

The sound of both the Bissell and dirt devil are fairly similar, but the turbo is a better option since it's easier to use and cleans a lot better. The hoover Elite Rewind is a slightly less noisy option, if youre willing to spend a little bit more but still want a bagless vacuum

Apparently, the little round yellow knob on the back of the handle can be turned through 90 degrees, and then the handle will detach from the vacuum - essentially, its a handle retaining lock, and if you had bought it from new, you'd have needed to turn it after inserting the handle, to lock it in position. thereafter, you dont really need to use it, as this model does not use the handle as part of the hose and wand setup. I believe we had something similar in the UK badged as a very low budget Vax. Some versions did have a height control knob on the hood, and 2 height wheels, as opposed to only one on the machine you have, which must have been a super low budget model. 60 bucks is too much for what you get even for a dirt devil. And being that its intentionally disposable machine with no parts availability, even crapper quality control and a luck luster customer support that I can't no longer recommend them and a money waster. Thats were modern dirt devil is going and I question myself "Why is dirt devil even around at this point"

Because Dirt Devil WORKS. It's got good suction. I've owned Hoover, Bissell, Shark (the worse) and I now own Oreck for over 10 yrs now (the best) $369, you get what you pay for. But have a very cheap Dirt Devil $29 for my sunroom and it does the job. Again you get what you pay for, it works.

Had a Bissell and it never picked up much even from the start but this dust devil has picked up everything. Out of the box, the dust devil has done more than the other one ever did and it was cheaper. Not by much but still.

Are you kidding me! That foam thing is not a filter. The user Manuel shows what the exhaust filter looks like. AND that cover over the cyclonic assembly should not be there. Pure corp. trickery! Yes you're right, be sure your belt will keep breaking. The vacuum is a joke. Not worth a dollar!

Looks like Dynamite model and I love mine but it is time to replace, will buy this. I wanted to see the bottom better, you were too brief. Thumbs down. p.s. These were made for hard floors and short carpets, you are way off probably because you are new to these products.

I don't believe that repairing vacuum cleaners for over 15 years, and owning over 100 of them would quantify me being new to vacuums. Though I do appreciate the feedback, I have already taken your advice as newer reviews tend to be far more in-depth so I don't miss any details you described. I can assure these were not made for hard floors, as there is no brushroll shutoff, and its performance on hard floors was very mediocre, however I do agree with the sentiment on short pile carpeting.

The Dirt Devil Upright is a plastiic piece of crap. I wish I saw this video before I bought it. The dirt cup latch piece broke off and I have no idea how, so the cup will not hold. I did not pay for the warranty so I am out of luck. Plastic on this vacuum is like a dollar tree toy. Unbelievable! Thanks for letting people know. They need to be take off the market. Totally rip off!
