@luke184lisa Moissanite is its own gem. The discovery by Henri Moissan in a meteorite led to the synthesis of the mineral Silicon Carbide. (SiC) Diamonds are carbon😊 I have both. Moissanite is fiery, full of beautiful color, and has over 2.5 x light dispersion than diamond. An excellent cut, colorless, 2+ carat HPHT LGD is an achievable dream. I will say that the fire, brilliance, and color of Moissanite had me spoiled before I received my LGD🤩

Lab diamonds are synthetic, because they are synthesized through chemical synthesis. Natural diamonds are also synthetic, but they were synthesized naturally through the effects of gravity (heat and pressure). Definition of synthesis: a : the composition or combination of parts or elements so as to form a whole b : the production of a substance by the union of chemical elements, groups, or simpler compounds or by the degradation of a complex compound c : the combining of often diverse conceptions into a coherent whole also : the complex so formed
@LeahElisheva5 ай бұрын

I think I would differ. The whole point of the diamond business is rarity. Natural diamonds are rarer (can be debated) than the lab grown ones. So naturally, it will be expensive. Its like buying an authentic Rembrant and a oil color printed version of Rembrant. To the eyes and quality, it seems same and its artistic value is the same as well. But one would wonder, why someone pays millions for an authentic Rembrant and just a few bucks for the printed version?

So nice to see someone say Diamonds are NOT an investment. This is absolutely true for a VAST majority of Engagement ring buyers. Regardless of whether it's a Lab or Mined diamond, you will Absolutely lose money trying to re-sell. And IMO it will be at LEAST a 50% loss for a mined diamond...usually it's closer to a 60-75% loss. And for a Lab diamond, retailers say there is no value in them whatsoever, and therefore no market for them. All lies, A jeweler/retailer will absolutely tell you your lab diamond is worth nothing, and just try to pay you for the metal...Then turn around sell that Lab diamond for as close to Lab market value or above if he/she can get it. I moved to selling lab grown 10 years ago before all the big stores started selling them… when they used to have gray tones. They’ve come a long way in quality since those days. Happy to hear my videos have been helpful. There are large chats about this topic. Gold is seen as a very long term investment. But more from the pure gold bullion buying. Would you say Middle-Eastern gold is a great investment? I noticed gold in America or Europe, mostly sell 14k or 18k but quality is different than Arab countries' gold. I understand that it can be due to mixing the raw medals to the gold, using high quality vs low rated medals.
@OsirisDiamonds2 жыл бұрын
Gold,no matter what origin, will be priced to its value weather it’s 14 karat 10 karat 18 karat or 24 karat the value will always be the same. The only difference is you will be paid out a different price point depending the karat. If one ounce of pure 24 karat gold is valued at $1800 you will not be receiving that value if you bring a diluted 10k gold chain.

I'm in Malaysia at the moment, and over here, the gold shops have the current gold price listed on the wall. When you buy something, they basically weigh it and charge you that price plus a designer's fee, which is usually pretty low. But if you go to the jewellers in the mall, they just have a price for the item, so I assume there's a much bigger markup compared to the price of the gold itself.

Lab-grown diamonds are just as fine if not potentially better and cheaper. Meaning more companies will want to venture into this market since it's profitable. Coming down to a bit of economics. The Laws of Demand and Supply will determine the price once the competition in the market will stabilize. This also raises another important factor: *The price of natural diamonds WILL know a massive drop in the next coming years* since there's no way of differentiating both products. The only ones which will survive this price drop will be products with historical values. E.g. if the jewelry belongs to a famous individual. Ofc quality of the product must be ensured I would highly advise people who have invested in natural diamonds e.g. collectors, etc, to switch their investment while it is still profitable.

I disagree. I think those who can afford natural stones will continue to prefer and buy them. But man made stones will be there for the rest of us. There will always be a market for both, just like with luxury items of any kind vs their not luxury counterparts.

great video - will CVD lab diamonds ever lose clarity or color if they are post-treated?
@OsirisDiamonds2 жыл бұрын
If there is a clarity enhancement, some methods fall apart in high heat. Like if you were going to re-polish your gold ring/re-dip it for luster. Color enhancement shouldn't be effected the same way as clarity enhancement.

But hpht diamonds when tested with a diamond tester does not say it is a diamond while cvd is same as natural ones - I got confused by your statement that hpht is better than cvd diamonds can you pls clarify on this topic a bit more
@verydenise Жыл бұрын
I think he said this because they have better color. I heard CVD can be brownish. Sometimes CVD diamonds are later treated with HPHT process for color correction.

It took me about ten years, but I finally bought a lab diamond for my wife and I was able to afford what I would have never had if it was mined. I say ten years because I have been paying attention and I am noticing how people are slowly transitioning. First, my cousin who is an avid lover of diamonds and has resources as well. She purchased a lab diamond years ago and what is interesting is that instead of concealing that detail, she brings it up as if proud that it is a lab diamond. She feels better knowing there is no risk slavery or abusive practices were applied, and no pristine land was violated and destroyed in the process. And, hers is a CVD, so it is pure, 100% carbon, colorless and absolutely stunning. In fact, the only way to know would be spending tens of thousands of dollars in equipment most jewelers do not have, to then analyze the gases inside the stone to figure out if it is mined (gas compositions 100 miles inside the Earth, or nitrogen and methane used in CVD. Yet, it s nothing different than a diamond. My analogy is that 100 years ago, gentlemen bought flowers for ladies on the street, from girls who picked up the flowers from nature, in other words, their local fields. Now, they buy them in stores that get them from green houses, controlled environments, so they are bigger and in custody while they grow and with fertilizers from bags instead of natural top soils....Nevertheless, they are BOTH flowers, natural flowers, one is not monitored and therefore it is random and the risk makes it less likely that a perfect flower is found, the other is closely watched and protected from diseases, etc. They are both flowers and no lady would ever think twice. And, yes, I am sure that some scientist can test them both and discover the one from the valley/field based on the nutrients and composition, but one is not less a flower than the other. Same with water, you can make ice from the freezer or go outside to the lake and get the ice naturally from the weather. Any idiot knows one will show tap water with fluoride when tested and the other is rain water with some impurities from the lake. THEY ARE BOTH ICE, made form water. Different ingredients, which are not necessary to call it ice are present in both, but what makes it ice, FROZEN WATER, is in each of them. In my case, our diamond was made with care for my wife, and I got to choose exactly how I wanted it to be, look, cut and size. It is as unique...it is not less valuable, is just that DeBeers hide/control/limit the supply thus artificially raising the market price. So, I would rather pay for what a lab diamond costs (significantly less nowadays and the price seemed to stabilize) because there is labor involved, there is also craftsmanship by perusing the stone, deciding how to cut, polishing, the equipment and energy to make it, etc. We know how much it costs to be profitable to them, rather than be taken for a fool and charge ten times more viciously for a mined when we know it costs actually less since the miner is a pauper who makes $5 a week and is not heavy to ship it to Europe since you could even fit hundreds in your pockets. Hence, I am afraid it costs less to mine a diamond than to produce it, but at least the lab diamond people do not betray our trust.

You should’ve bought a moissanite, passes Diamond testers, fraction of the price and higher refractive index.

Costs a friend of mine 36 bucks to make a 2car lab diamond. $4200 ? Fairly priced?
@OsirisDiamonds Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I don't see how machines that cost millions to purchase makes a lab diamond take 36 bucks to make. Do you mean a CZ diamond? Lab diamonds as a process is an expensive endeavor yet much cheaper than mining.

I’m mad. HPHT Are coming up over and over on the internet as moissanite. Yet the CVD comes up as diamond on a tester . I’ve just purchased a HPHT 😢 why would pay when it’s not gonna show as a diamond on a tester . Any insight on this please ? P.s I haven’t received it yet , only just ordered it
@OsirisDiamonds Жыл бұрын
I am unsure on the percent of diamonds this is happening too. Might be the quality of tester as well. Apparently it can be due to the thermal conductivity of the diamond and HTHP can cause a misreading. You know you are buying a certified lab diamond, what are the odds of someone testing your diamond. I understand your concern but I also wouldn't be too concerned either.
@verydenise Жыл бұрын
@@OsirisDiamonds i believe it has to do with the trace elements trapped in the diamond. I read that natural blue diamonds also won't show up as diamonds on those cheap testers.

Bro I just wish real diamond owners would speak on this and show their pieces and give their experiences on the real marker with their investments
@OsirisDiamonds2 жыл бұрын
Remember most diamond owners don't sell their diamonds. People divorced sell their diamonds. There aren't too many outlets to sell other than jewelers or pawn shops. They already get their goods on discount so why pay you the same rate as a wholesaler were they already get diamonds from. They are going to pay you less since its a cash risk to buy and hold goods till they sell. If you buy wrong you are royally screwed. Hence my point, these are not monetary investments.

What are your thoughts on the GemEx light performance certification, as well as using the ASET Scope to evaluate a diamond?

I have tried to get James Allen and Blue Nile to provide me with at least aset scope....both refused. If I am going to spend 20,000 on a stone, I want to see it before it SHIPS. They do offer free returns and refunds, they are hoping you will never scope the stone and just keep it rather than go thru the hassle of return.

If you want a pretty ring that looks like a diamond, get a lab grown diamond and simply enjoy the way it looks and the saving on cost. However, it's not a real diamond, no more than a perfect copy of a Rembrandt painting is a real Rembrandt. What makes a diamond special is the rarity, it's natural beauty, the sheer age of it (up to 3 billion years old! astonishing!) and yes, the cutting. If you have an item made 'last week' in a lab it does not have the magic, just the look of the real thing!
