I remember seeing the TV ads for the Black Hole figures. I loved the movie, but don't remember seeing the toys in the stores. Yet somehow, a Maximilian figure found its way into my toy collection. In fact, I think I literally found it somewhere, left in the dirt. It was a disappointing figure actually. The head turned, the leg stabilizer flaps flipped up and down, and the arms swiveled around laterally, but you could not raise the arms. I would have loved to have been able to raise that fan blade arm and pretend I was shredding someone, Like Max did in the movie. Unfortunately, I could not.

I had some of the Palamino Crew and Maximilian... I always wanted a Vincent but he was REALLY hard to find!!! It wasn't actually a bad attempt, but given teh movie... It was just a bad choice for Action figures really!

Even as a kid, I thought the idea of a toy line for Over the Top was absurd. Seeing them in the Sears catalog made my older sisters and I laugh. The line for Willow was such a crushing letdown. I was too young when Kenner's original Star Wars line was in stores. But I was looking forward to collecting for Willow. Then I saw the toy line. Such a missed opportunity. Still wish there was a true action figure for Madmartigan. Much like Over the Top, the toy line for Congo made you think "Who asked for this?" Was there a single child wanting to continue the "action" of Congo?

George Lucas based the Prequel Jedi Knights on Madmartigan, Qui-Gon being probably the most obvious example! :)

13:17 - That missle launching bazooka thingy came in black as an extra Star Wars toy accessory a few years back. I think it came as one of those pointless extra Stormtrooper weapons.It had a remolded handle to look and (not) fit in the hands better.

I was thinking of Black Hole on and off through this series. I was way too young to have been aware of the toys, but I do remember reading the comic/ graphic novel lying around at school years later. It made enough of an impression to cement the movie's place as something I wanted to find and really wanted to like.

18:01 - One thing most people overlook is - Look at the Art Of Star Wars books. Those Power Of The Force 2 action figures were more based on the figure sketches closest to the final characters. Luke was drawn more bulky. C-3PO's head was a bit more oval shaped. Han Solo...did anyone get a 90's Han that could ever stand up ok??

I was never able to get ahold of the Ewok Village or the Battle Wagon as a kid (too expensive and too rare, in that order). So I’ll always have a bit of a soft spot for the Robin Hood line because it gave me a second chance to buy those toys at retail. Obviously they weren’t exactly the same, but they were close enough and in some ways even vastly improved, in the case of the Sherwood Forest/Ewok Village playset.

Another reason for 'The Black Hole' figures not being a success, was the small problem, that, in the movie, virtually everyone dies. Not much chance of a sequel.

I had that Robin Hood line as a kid - no way is it in the top 20. I don't care if it reused parts from other lines - as a kid growing up in the early 90s, I had no idea. The head sculpts for *most* of the figures are great. The universal use of cloth goods is fantastic. And the Ewok village being reused? I think they improved upon that playset with the use of foliage. At the end of the day, you have 8 unique figures, two vehicles and a playset for that line. You have a variety of accessories. You have fantastic card art. No, the Robin Hood line is actually one of the best. It may have been done inexpensively, but for a kid who loved the film, they were some of my favorite toys growing up.

Well, I voted... And I thought it was going to be harder than it was... But when I thought about it, I thought to when I was a kid... And ONE LINE STUCK OUT AS WORST... Almost all the figures I had at least seen or heard of before... Even played with! But ONE LINE I had NEVER EVER SEEN... Or if I had, It was so forge table, I don't ever recall it.... And that was ID4 - NOOooooooo! I am taking the piss there! That actually got some attention on BBC TV believe it or not... No... I don't mind giving away my vote... It was the ROGER RABBIT LINE... Everything else I can say I had Touched at least ONCE even if I never owned or played with... But Roger Rabbit? I know it existed here in teh UK... I have found some in Charity Shops and Thrift Stores!!! But I never saw them in stores... Never saw them advertised on TV... It was teh only option really!

I still will defend the HOOK line till the day I die! It was a fully-fledged line. I also will defend Willow, I think people forget it wasn't some blockbuster. It's more cult-classic in regards to pop-culture recognition. More people know MIB or Independence Day over Willow, which is why we should be counting our blessings that ANYTHING got made. Having one pose allowed them to be cheaply made and also making them so small used less material. All the accessories, battle wagons and the Eborsisk round it out to be pretty fun in the end. I think Willow actually deserves more credit for what it "is" not what it "could" have been. Some bad lines that didn't make the list - CONGO, Waterworld, Last Action Hero (even though I LOVE the movie), Indiana Jones Temple Of Doom line (only 3 freaking figures! - though they are well sculpted) and The A-Team lines (very cheap looking GI JOE knockoffs with hardly any detail)

Willow is an action figure line that kills me, because I absolutely love the movie. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s incredible, the music is gorgeous, and it hits every note that a fun action-fantasy film should meet. The toys look like one of those horrible toy lines from the 90s that are “limited edition” that don’t move and are little more than statues, but they have absolutely no play value at all. Micheal is right that they look like Dungeons and Dragons miniatures, but even that is horribly inexcusable. Why couldn’t they give us something like Star Wars action figures? That would have been amazing! General Kael could have been an awesome five point articulation bad guy, but noooooo. Total failure.

23:57 The Black Hole action Figures were OK... They were not great but they were very pose-able... Trouble is, Not only did the movie not do well - Which is a real shame as it had some nice ideas.... But the Movie did not lend itself to an Action Figure Line... There was barely any actual action in the film really... More like Indiana Jones in Space kind of Action... Not like Dick Tracy or Commando! Where you could recreate gunfights and stuff... So, Not a terrible line but a bad choice for a tie in Action Figure Line!

Use them for background/ civilian/human shields/ ransom/ bounties on Tatooine or Rebel types in their meeting/war rooms. No guns to loose either. Maximilian is wicked, have him hovering around on the Death Star. Buck Rogers has some similar but better figures Tigerman, especially.

The Black Hole figures weren't that bad! Yeah, the sentries had weak arms, but they looked cool. And Old B.O.B and Vincent were awesome! I've still got Vincent and played with him a heck of a lot! Still holding up. Other than the guns. But, hey, at least the robots LOOKED good. Never saw the humans in person, so I couldn't say.

¿?¿? Robinhood a bad line?? Wth?? We got some really good likenesses out of that line, the figures were fun, and they improved on the Ewok village. They took those drums out, added tree top pieces, and it now has a better color scheme. I liked the Dick Tracy figures, I wouldn't having a few. As for the POTF2 line: I strongly disagree with the guys in the basement. Their arguments were weak as to what made the figures bad. They were struggling to find the words to make a strong enough point. It's right infront of them, the figures were way too big to fit into vehicles and failed to capture the magic and charm of Star Wars. Boom. Done. I may be incorrect as to the reason why, but I think I have an idea of why they did this: look at the original SW poster from 77. Look at look at the strong connection between the art on that poster where Luke has has his lightsaber held high above his head and then look at the 1995 Luke action figure, those two are almost exactly the same. I think this was meant to have a sci/fantasy aesthetic. 1997-98, it got a whole lot better. The Expanded Universe line cut way down on the bulk. Regardless of whether it's 1995, or 98, you have a lot of great head sculpts. These look exactly like the actors, except for the white gown monkeyface Leia, that one sucked. I would pick from alot of the newer figure lines of the 2000s over any of the older lines, but I agree some of those older lines did drop the ball or fail altogether. The new Godzilla movie figure line (w the Rock) looked like total crap. The paint apps on some of these figures. It's a crime

Stargate toys was awful and is easily one of the worst action figure lines. Ra was not a bald golden painted man. The colorful costumes were awful. They were released way too early and barely reflected the movie. The playability was generic standard fare, and the line deservedly bombed. I will never forget the shock I had of this awful line.

The Force Awakens line sucked pretty hard, no aliens, the robots looked like preschool toys, no individual BB-8 figure, and he was a main character , he only came in a Kohls multipack box. Rey didn't come in her desert gear for the line , only later did she appear in that gear. and i don't know but if Kylo Ren didn't come in a cloth cape, then it was a cheaply made line

Oh boy, do I have one that I think is the worst, transformers: age of extinction, we didn’t get any of the better figures until wave 2, wave 1 was all just cheap to produce pull back toys, there where only 2 villains in the US main line, 3 if you lived in japan, one of the worst line sellers in transformers history, that being the first edition Optimus prime, way too many spinoff lines to keep up with, and boring packaging
